Windows 10: Brightness adjustment no longer works.

Discus and support Brightness adjustment no longer works. in Windows 10 Customization to solve the problem; I updated to the latest Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.17763.348] version and now I can't adjust brightness at all anymore.     Brightness adjustment no longer works.


    I updated to the latest Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.17763.348] version and now I can't adjust brightness at all anymore.


    Hope MS can fix it.

    Brightness Control not working in Windows 10

    Hi Ella,

    To adjust the brightness, see the steps below:

    • Go back to Power Options, and tick on the High performance.
    • See if you can adjust the brightness.

    If this not work, we highly suggest that you create an Administrator account, and re-do the steps above.

    Brightness can not be adjusted.

    Hi Sirajudeen,

    Do let us know the following to assist you better with this issue:

    • What is the make and model of your device?
    • Were you able to see any error message/ error code with this issue?
    • Have you tried to install all the pending updates for drivers and Windows Updates on your device?

    This issue might have happened due to corrupted/ outdated drivers.

    I suggest you to refer to the below Microsoft article, try the troubleshooting steps suggested to change the brightness and check if it helps.

    Adjust your monitor's brightness and contrast

    Adjust brightness settings in Windows 10

    1. What is the make and model of the computer?

    2. From where exactly are you trying to adjust the brightness?

    I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

    • Type Settings in the Search bar and then Enter.
    • Click on the System and then Notifications and Actions which is available on the Left pane.
    • Click on Add or Remove quick Actions.
    • In the make sure that the Brightness is ON.
    • Then click on the Action Center and adjust the Brightness according to your preference.
