  1. Brightness Key Re-assigning [TL;DR at the end]

Using SharpKey (a free piece of software that edits the registry of windows or something to change key input) I changed some of the keys on my external keyboard, which I am planning to use for my laptop. I have been getting rid of some keys I don’t use, for example PGUP, and reassigning it to volume up instead, which I think is more useful for me... So the key assignments I am focusing here is the fact that I have remapped PGUP to volume up, and PGDN to volume down. I want to make it so when I shift or CTRL or Fn, it changes brightness... my PGUP key actually has an extra function, namely “home” (and my PGDN has “end”) however I don’t use those either, I can use those function easily, so I mapped them to brightness up, and down, respectively... however it knows I am pressing the Brightness up key (I have it on my laptop keyboard) which has the Code of: 0xE0B2. Why doesn’t it change the brightness despite my laptop knowing that I pressed that key...

TL;DR: i remapped “home” on my external keyboard to “brightness up” (0xE0B2), it registers as me pressing it, but the brightness stays the same. I’ll answer anything in comments

    Microsoft Edge TLS Security

After trying everything (not a lot of steps) listed in the Microsoft Edge support site, I did a wider search and found this very simple youtube video that fixed it immediately:

For those who prefer not to click links the steps are simple:

    1. Click in the Cortana search bar next to the Win 10 Start button

    2. Type internet options

    3. Select internet options (control panel) from the list

    4. Click on the advanced tab

    5. Scroll down to the security section

    6. Make sure the following are all clicked:
    Use SSL 3.0
    Use TLS 1.0
    Use TLS 1.1
    Use TLS 1.2

    7. Click apply

    8. Refresh the page that was giving the error and it should now connect.

Hope this helps, it was a 30 second fix after hours of pounding my head against the error with the Support site suggestions.

Brightness Control not working in Windows 10

    Hi Ella,

To adjust the brightness, see the steps below:

    • Go back to Power Options, and tick on the High performance.
    • See if you can adjust the brightness.

If this not work, we highly suggest that you create an Administrator account, and re-do the steps above.

Let us know how it goes.

Brightness Key Re-assigning [TL;DR at the end]

Changing brightness is no longer smooth with function keys on 1903

Hi, There's a the slider for brightness at the bottom of the Action Centre (build 1903).

If you'd be prepared to consider an alternative... how about smooth control of brightness using your scroll wheel?
Press a key, plus scroll, and adjust your brightness.

The key and the steps are your choice.

Oh, and it can adjust volume similarly.

Works nicely on my Lenovo Thinkpad, where the Fn key steps for brightness are a bit harsh.
