    Brightness locked on max, looking for solutions


    Hello, As mentioned, my brightness seems to be locked on the highest setting making it quite uncomfortable to use the laptop for extended periods of time. I have tried a bunch of solutions that I found were being suggested on other forums, but none made the situation change. Since I have seen that many other people seem to have had this problem after the Windows 11 change I was wondering if Windows have come up with a solution that I have somehow missed. If not, I hope you can help me out and propose some ways to fix this issue. Thank you in advance.

    Lock Screen Dims (Brightness Auto Reduce at Lock Screen)

    Hi,

    Since you're having an issue with the brightness of your Lock Screen, we suggest uninstalling the display adapter from the Device Manager. Just follow the steps below:

    • Press Windows key + X.
    • Select Device Manager.
    • Locate and expand Display adapter.
    • Right-click on the display device and click uninstall.

    Note: Please restart your computer after performing the steps above.

    If the issue persists, download and install latest display driver from the computer manufacturer's website.

    Please update us with the status. We will be glad to assist you.

    Brightness in Windows 10 locked at max

    My GPU died. RIP. Now I'm booting my laptop temporarily using the native display adapter, listed as Citrix Indirect Display Adapter in Device Manager. It seems to have the brightness stay at the maximum value and my eyes hurt. I've tried adjusting the
    brightness in System Settings, Mobility Settings, Ease of Access, and Power Options, but none of them do anything. Anyone have any suggestions for something to try next? I'd like to keep using this laptop for a few weeks until I can source parts and build
    myself a PC, but I'd prefer to not have to wear sunglasses whenever using it.

    Max Brightness on Videos

    Hello,

    I a currently experiencing an unusual problem where any downloaded video I have, plays the video on max brightness. videos on youtube are fine, all the colors on the apps I am running are fine, But if I play a video that I have saved on my Computer then
    the video itself will do this max brightness while taskbar and other apps are the correct brightness.
