Windows 10: Brightness slider not working in 2/3 Power Modes

Hello,My brightness slider is not working in Options, nor in Quick Settings in 2/3 Power Modes Quiet and Balanced.Weirdly enough, it is working in High Performance mode. I've been searching the web and feel I've tried everything from *switching off/on multiple times* trying to disable Adaptive Brightness a function I don't have* disabling/enabling Pnp Generic monitor* installing the newest drivers* trying to change HKEY registry entry's that my laptop does not have* to running CMD prompts like Disable - Plugged inpowercfg -setacvalueindex SCHEME_CURRENT 7516b95f-f776-4464-8c53-06167f4

Brightness Slider Gone from Power Plan

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

Select action center/notification button on the right side of the taskbar, and then move the
Brightness slider to adjust the brightness. As mentioned in the article, if you
don't have a desktop PC and the slider doesn't appear or work, try updating the display driver.
As you have already update the Display drivers, I would suggest you to uninstall and delete the drivers then update it again. To uninstall and delete the drivers, please follow the steps mentioned below:

1. Open Device Manager and then expand the Display adapters
   section.
2. Then right click on options listed below and click on Uninstall.
   
3. Check the box next to Delete this drivers.
4. Then reboot your device and update the drivers. You can also try updating the Batteries drivers along with display drivers from manufacturer’s website.

Missing Adjust Screen Brightness slider in Power Options

My HP laptop performed a Windows Update today. As a result, I've lost my "Adjust Screen Brightness" slider in Power Options. I can still find it in Settings - Display.

I have Win 10. I've found a YouTube video (specifically for Win 7) that suggests going to Device Manager - Monitors - Properties - Uninstall Device, but I've also read that doing so will merely result in the same driver being reinstalled.

What should I do to get the "Adjust Screen Brightness" slider back in Power Options?

To adjust the brightness, see the steps below:

• Go back to Power Options, and tick on the High performance.
• See if you can adjust the brightness.

If this not work, we highly suggest that you create an Administrator account, and re-do the steps above.
