    "the remote connection was denied because the user name and password combination you provided is not recognized, or the selected authentication protocol is not permitted on the remote access server."


    broadband connection working properly in win 7 but it's giving me the above error in window 10 home.

    Automatic Broadband (PPPoE) Connection on Windows 10

    Hello,

    I am a Windows 10 Pro user. I have a Broadband Internet Connection connected directly to my PC. I had Automatic Broadband (PPPoE) Connection which would dial up at startup on my previous versions of Windows. I used
    rasdial feature and Task Scheduler to connect automatically on my previous versions of Windows. But when I tried setting up an Automatic Broadband (PPPoE) Connection on Windows 10, I was unable to do so.

    How can I create an Automatic Broadband (PPPoE) Connection on Windows 10?

    Hello Babu,

    Thank you! I was able to create an Automatic Broadband (PPPoE) Connection on Windows 10 after
    creating a shortcut of my Broadband Connection
    and then placing it to the startup folder. However, rasdial feature does not work on Windows 10.

    Hello,

    The PPPoE connection can be configured automatically. Here's a guide on how to set this up:

    • Make sure that you already created and configured a broadband PPPoE connection.
    • Search Task Scheduler.
    • Schedule the automatic dial of a broadband PPPoE connection. Here are the steps:

      3.1. Select Create Basic Task.

      3.2. Enter your preferred name and description for the task (e.g. Auto Connect) and then click
      Next.

      3.3. Choose When I log on and then click Next.

      3.4. Choose Start a program and then click Next.

      3.5. In the Program/script field, enter rasdial.

      3.6. In the Add arguments (optional) field, enter the name of your broadband PPPoE connection, followed by your broadband username and password. (e.g."Sample broadband name" -sampleuser -samplepw) Note: Follow the format given
      in the example.

      3.7. Leave the Start in (optional) field empty and then click
      Next.

      3.8. Click Finish.
    • Restart the computer.
