  1. Broadcasting on Windows 10

Applies to Windows 10 & Gaming on Windows 10

As of October 2019 the broadcasting option that was once found in the Game to broadcast to Mixer was removed. Microsoft/Xbox wanted to remove this feature to enable them to improve the performance and make way for new improvements.

The official statement from Microsoft here:

"With continued, great feedback from the community and after careful consideration, we have decided to remove Mixer from Xbox Game Bar to focus on delivering new, more often requested experiences across Mixer, Windows 10 and the Xbox Game Bar. You can broadcast to Mixer from Windows 10 devices using third-party tools such as OBS, Streamlabs, and XSplit and continue to use Xbox Game Bar for screen capture and sharing, controlling your music and audio settings, finding new teammates with Looking for Group LFG, and chatting with Xbox friends across Xbox console, mobile, and PC – all without leaving your game."

You can find a support article on Xbox Support with more information on the Windows 10 Gamebar: https://beta.support.xbox.com/help/...-bar-windows#7300e277530c4407ad68fb8d42f7e893

So How can I broadcast on Windows 10?

There are third party tools that are available. These plug into your Windows 10 device and capture what is on your screen, broadcasting it to your chosen streaming provider Mixer, Twitch, YouTube, etc.... The main one at the moment is:

    1. OBS - https://obsproject.com/
    2. Streamlabs - https://streamlabs.com/
    3. XSplit - https://www.xsplit.com/

Of course, all of these are third party apps. These are not connected to Microsoft in anyway, shape or form. If you choose to dowload any of these programs, it is at your own risk.

If you choose to broadcast to Twitch, you can do so using their Twitch Studio Which is currently in beta. More information is found here: https://blog.twitch.tv/en/2019/08/0...ve-is-getting-a-whole-lot-easier-ee64251bcf5/

    Recording game play

You can still record game play from your computer and upload this individually to YouTube after it has recorded. To do this, please open Windows Game bar and select record. This will bring a recording overlay on your screen where you can control your recording. This records your screen, but does not broadcast it.

All recordings get saved into the Game DVR folder within Videos in your file explorer.

    How do I submit feedback?

There are ways to submit feedback to Microsoft about your experience with Windows and gaming. You can use the Feedback hub which is found within Windows 10. More information can be found here: https://support.microsoft.com/help/4021566

You can submit feedback to Xbox using their page here: https://www.reddit.com/r/xboxinsiders/wiki/ideas

    windows broadcasting

    Hi ToddBrooks,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

Could you please help me with the below questions:

    • How are you broadcasting?
    • Are you receiving any error code along with the error message?
    • Which version of Windows you are using? (To check, type: winver in start menu and hit enter.)

You can check if the Broadcast option is enabled under Settings. To do so, follow the steps mentioned below:

    1. Click on the Settings icon from the start menu.
    2. Click on Gaming > Click on
      Game bar.
    3. In the right pane, turn on the slider under “Record game clips, screenshots, and broadcast using Game bar”.

I suggest you to follow the troubleshooting steps mentioned in the Microsoft article on ‘Why
    can't I broadcast my game?
andplease provide a screenshot of the window, so that we can have a better understanding on this issue. Follow the steps mentioned in the

    Mixer Broadcast Not Working

    Hi CV Scaryseizure,

Thank you for bringing this up. Let's try to isolate this issue so that we could figure out what causing the Mixer Broadcast not to work properly. Kindly provide us the following information below:

    • Can you tell us when did you notice this issue?
    • Do you use the Mixer Broadcasting app on Windows 10?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?

In the meantime, I recommend that you sign out your account on the Mixer app then sign in again. If you still got the same issue, I suggest that you also reinstall the app to eliminate corrupted files.

We look forward to your reply.

    Broadcasting on Windows 10

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
