Windows 10: Broke a Mirror and it Deleted System Reserve, How can I Recover My Drive?

I was trying to make a mirror of my system disk and break the mirror as a proper backup. But I did it horribly wrong. When I broke the mirror the System Reserve section on the drive with windows 10 installed was deleted and when I try to boot in it gives me the error: 0xc0000034. It says the BCD is broken. I've been using a windows 10 installation usb to try and fix it using similar issues but I'm getting stuck and can't get any further. >When I enter the command prompt the disk's status is "Foreign">I was able to run bootrec /fixmbr, but /fixboot showed "Access Denied", and /scanos show

Win 10: Recovering a mirrored drive

I had a Win 10 system working fine with twin 1 TB drives setup in an Windows controlled mirror, as drive F:.

Then my boot drive failed. I had to replace it and reinstall Win 10 from scratch. I have been unable to reintroduce my mirrored drives to it.

In Disk Management they show up as disks 3 & 4, Dynamic, 3725.90 GB, Online. But in the partition part of the view it reads "Failed". They are not in any way accessible.

What the heck happened here? I contacted Microsoft support and was told "mirroring is not within our scope of support since that concerns harddrive and hardware part of the pc". Is drive mirroring an unsupported feature? How do I recover the data?

I suggest you to start your computer in safe mode with Networking and check if you are able to delete the System Reserved Partition.

Safe mode is a diagnostic mode that starts your computer in a limited state. Only the basic files and drivers necessary to run Windows are started.

Deleting a "System Reserved" partition

I recently went to the trouble of swapping over from Windows 7 to Windows 10. In my Windows 7 Config I had a Mirror of the OS drive on an identical SSD. When it came to installing Windows 10 I tried pretty hard to delete all partitions on Disk 0 and Disk
1. (Go figure; I wanted to set it up how I wanted it). I'm now left with the problem that I cannot delete the system reserved partition on Disk 1 meaning I cannot create a Mirror of my Disk 0.

How do I delete this partition? Or just "nuke" the drive so I can start over?
