Windows 10: BROKEN ICONS PLS HELP! Windows 10 APPS Icons Showing the Same Icon MS News in Search

Hi,


When searching, icons for Windows Apps are all showing the Microsoft News icon see screenshot below. Icons for normal Applications are showing fine.


I have tried everything I can find online, including:

- Reinstall all apps with PowerShell

- Clearing IconCache


I want to avoid doing a PC Reset Recovery.


System details:

Windows 10 20H2 Build 19042.572
Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.31.0

Remove Linux Desktop Icons

I am not sure whether this will work (Ubuntu does not have icons like that on the desktop by default), but I suggest opening the trash bin and sweeping the icons into the window showing the trash bin.

 

Techpowerup bookmark icon in firefox?

changed the favicon for the forum
uploaded a new smaller (bytes) icon for the main site
added html code to suggest the icon to browsers

but i still cant get it to show up in firefox favourites

 

Windows 10 desktop icons not in order

In ccleaner, did you uncheck cleaning the icon cache... have not used in a while; however, I think that is what the option is called.

Now, if you are setting the icons and they move after you have set the settings and not changed them... you may have the "Random Windows 10 Icon movement problem".
Some people have this and some don't.
