Windows 10: Broken Start Button

Discus and support Broken Start Button in Windows 10 BSOD Crashes and Debugging to solve the problem; Unfortunately my Start Button has frozen on my relatively new PC similar thing happened on an laptop I upgraded but on that occasion the task bar froze...     Broken Start Button


    Unfortunately my Start Button has frozen on my relatively new PC similar thing happened on an laptop I upgraded but on that occasion the task bar froze as well - never found a solution so ended up going back to Windows 7 - don't have that option in this case and I've tried everything except the last option too traumatic and no guarantee I would have to keep on re-installing Win 10 on this page https://www.alphr.com/microsoft/1002578/how-to-fix-the-windows-10-start-menu-0-2/ . I also looked to roll back updates but it's been more than 7 days since the last update so not allowed! very frustrating


    Any ideas?

    Start Button displaying but not working


    The start button was working until there was a forced reboot (power failure). Then left click (normal click) over the start button does absolutely nothing. Right click brings up a menu but "programs" and also "settings" are missing and not included on this list. Search or Task View buttons do not work either with "normal" click. Does anyone have any suggestion or fixes?

    First step run a system file check



    Please run a system file check (SFC) & DISM (if necessary) if you are on win 8 or higher

    Second step
    • Windows Key + R on your keyboard, type powershell.
    • Right click on the PowerShell icon on the taskbar >Run as Administrator.
    • Paste the following command >enter

      Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
    • Check to see if the start button is working

    Third step
    Open Task Manager CTL, ALT, Delete>Click on Services tab>Find tiledatamodelsvc>Right click and turn off
