Windows 10: Brother DCP-9015CDW printer not recognised win 10

Recently re-installed Win 10 after upgrading my boot drive to a 2GB Sata to replace the previous smaller drive. Just can't get this printer to work. Latest drivers are installed from the Brother site.

Only error message I get when trying to do a test print is..... Printer Offline. I've uninstalled / re-installed several times. It was working fine previously but I do remember having similar issues to this to get it working the first time I installed Win 10 a couple of years back.

In terms of hardware, Asus 170E motherboard, just an Intel core i3 24GB ram. Can't remember how I originally fixed the issue, possibly connecting it via Wifi but that would be guessing.

Brother printer DCP-J4110DW no blacktext

Brother printer DCP-J4110DW will not print black text, however it will photo copy and print black text during copy process

any help will be much appreciated ,

Outdated scanner driver is one of the possible reasons why you are unable to scan using your Brother DCP 1610W printer. For us to assist you better, kindly answer the following questions:

• Have you made any changes to your computer prior to this issue?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
• Which version and OS build number of Windows 10 is currently installed? To check, press the
  Windows key, type winver, and press the
  Enter key.
• Have you tried to download and install the latest driver for your printer from the manufacturer's website?
• Do you receive any error messages?
• What program are you using to scan files?

Do I need both copies of my printer (Brother DCP J715W) on Windows 10?

One is automatically installed by the system, and the other is installed by the driver of the printer. Usually we can keep a printer.

We can check if the printer ports of the both printer copies are the same in printer properties.

If their printer ports are the same, we keep Brother DCP-J715W Printer and delete the other one.

If their printer ports are different, we keep the printer that works well by our testing(It is best to keep Brother DCP-J715W Printer).
