Windows 10: Brother MCF-6890CDW Printer no longer able to connect to network after Windows update on...

I have copied several error and warning messages found on my computer regarding why my printer is not connecting. I do not believe that unplugging or restarting my printer will address the problem Been there, done that.


Please advise.

Can't Access networked Brother Laser printer- To print or use Web I/f

Not all Printer drivers are included in the installation media. Even mine (Brother HL-4040CN), you would need to manually add it to the list:

1. Control Panel->Devices and Printers->Add a Printer
2. Follow the steps to set up a network printer. At one point, Windows will search for available printer, click on "The printer that I want isn't listed"
3. Click on "Windows Updates". Windows will start downloading a complete list of Printers.
4. Select your printer name & model then install.

EDIT: Just tried to install as a USB printer for MFC-7820N since I don't have this printer to set up as a network printer. The result as shown in the list after clicking on "Windows Update":

 

I HAVE INSTALLED A BROTHER PRINTER = MCF-9465 CDN

Upon checking, BROTHER MFC-9465CDN printer is certified for Windows 7 operating system. You may refer to this

link for more information. We suggest that you run the Printer in compatibility mode for you to be able to use the printer in the newer version of operating system. To do this, follow these steps:

Method 1: Uninstall Print Queues driver.

• Press Windows key + R on your keyboard.
  
• Type devmgmt.msc and hit enter.
  
• Expand Print queues.
  
• Right-click on the Printer driver and click Uninstall.

Method 2: Uninstall the Printer driver under Imaging Devices.

• Press Windows key + R on your keyboard.
  
• Type devmgmt.msc and hit enter.
  
• Expand Imaging Devices.
  
• Right-click on the Printer driver and click Uninstall.

Method 3: Uninstall USB Root Hub.

• Press Windows key + R on your keyboard.
  
• Type devmgmt.msc and hit enter.
  
• Expand Universal Serial controllers.
  
• Right-click on USB Root Hub and click Uninstall.
  
  Note: Doing this will delete all drivers for devices which are connected via USB.

Method 4: Run Printer in compatibility mode.

• Right-click on the installer.
  
• Choose Properties.
  
• Click Compatibility tab.
  
• Place a check mark under Run this program in compatibility mode.
  
• Choose which version of Windows did your printer works before.
  
• Click Apply and hit OK.

Brother printers - wireless connection

Yep, over the years I've contacted Brother by phone and online chat and email. They have a list of stock responses, none of which have solved the problem. Their printers work great when they're actually working. But the wireless issues are maddening. With other printer brands, my experience has been different - when the internet connection is restored, the printers automatically reconnect to the wifi SSID and work properly again, immediately. But for some reason this does not happen with Brother, even when their printers have reconnected.
