Windows 10: Brother MFC-L2900dw cannot send scan PDF to Win 11 PC - blocked somehow?

Trying to scan from the control panel on the printer/scanner. Get error message: "scan unsuccessful".Brother tech support says that because I am able to scan using the Brother iPrint&Scan app installed on my computer, it means that my PC presumably Windows Security is blocking the PC from receiving the scanned image from the printer/scanner when using the control panel on the printer/scanner to try to scan the document.I have my wi-fi home network including the printer/scanner set as "Private," and I have tried turning off all of the three firewalls briefly to no avail same result.I

My Brother MFC will not scan & save to PC since doing latest Widows update

I recently did a Windows 10 update. Now my Brother MFC will not scan & save to PC. Printer is otherwise working. Error message is "Controlled folder access blocked Brother iPrint&Scan.exe from making changes". Brother support suggested turning off Controlled Folder Access every time I want to scan then turn it back on but surely there's a way to allow some things through the controller folder?

 

Brother MFC-250C Send Fax from the software simply fails to dial.

Brother MFC-250C with latest software and drivers works on WIN 7.

Everything works also on WIN 10 except for Send Fax from the software

PC-FAX v.2.1 which at the end simply fails to dial.

Scan and sending fax direct from the machine works.

Has to be WIN 10?

 

Brother MFC 490CW Scanning Problem

I have a Brother MFC 490CW all-in-one using Windows 11.

My unit is malfunctioning in the Scan to Email, Scan to OCR, Scan to Image functions. However, the Scan to File option is working.

In comparing the Windows 10 versus Windows 11 software download offerings for this model at the Brothers website, I noticed that for the Windows 10 version (32 and 64 bit), there is a preferred option called, “FULL SOFTWARE PACKAGE—FULL DRIVER AND SOFTWARE PACKAGE.” However, for the Windows 11 version, this option is not offered. Instead for Windows 11, a specific series of downloads are available for download---nothing is said that by downloading all of these specific options constitutes the original “FULL SOFTWARE PACKAGE—FULL DRIVER AND SOFTWARE PACKAGE” offered in Windows 10 and all previous iterations of Windows.

This differentiation in wording between the available Windows 10 and Windows 11 versions must have been made for some reason and I suspect that reason has something to do with my scanning problems.

My question is this: Is the individual software download offerings Brother has listed for the Windows 11 version—taken together--- identical to the software bundle offered by Brother for the Window 10 version? That is to say, is the Windows 11 version missing anything that was included in the Windows 10 version? Specifically, any software pertaining to the scanning functions of this unit?
