Windows 10: Brother scanner no longer working after Win 10 and Win 11 updates

I have a Brother duplex scanner ADS-2700W connected via ethernet that has worked fine for 5+ years scanning with Adobe Acrobat Premier versions 2015 and 2017. I've used both a Win 10 and Win 11 computer successfully.The Win 11 computer had a Windows update applied last week, and Acrobat 2017 now hangs when trying to scan using the TWAIN and WIA interfaces. It looks like it is starting to scan, but hangs. I need to terminate the app. I've re-booted numerous times, uninstalled the Windows device, I've uninstalled and re-installed the Brother drivers twice, including using their uninsta

Brother scanner not working on Windows 11 Pro

I got a new computer running on Windows Pro 11, 64-bit (previously had Windows Home 10). I set up my Brother printer/scanner on the new desktop, but the scanner does not communicate with the computer. Brother does not make compatible drivers with Windows 11.

I received an error when I told Microsoft to download drivers. Then I read I needed to turn off memory integrity through core isolation which I did and the scanner still no longer works. I have the MFC-7840W. I can open the Microsoft utility and then it will tell the printer to scan, but only as a jpeg after a few steps.

I want the old setup of standing by my scanner, putting the document in the feed, and simply pressing scan to file and it appears on my computer in the scan folder. Is this no longer possible???

Brother scanner not working on Windows 11 Pro

I have the same issue with the MFC-7820N, I can print but I cannot scan.

Personally, I think that it's very sad that Brother is no longer supporting their older printers/scanners and no longer releasing drivers for Windows 11.

The only way to continue scanning in Windows 11 is to purchase VueScan at: Purchase VueScan for macOS, Windows, and Linux

They have a trial version but any document that you scan will have a huge watermark across it that reads: "Buy VueScan now! www.hamrick.com"

 

Win 10 MFC7340 Scanner will not write a file to a folder

Hello all, Finally got the Brothers all in one working properly with Win 10 . was working OK with win 8.1.

Here is what worked for me:

Typed in the word Scan in the Coderia inquiry box. Lower left bottom.

Bottom of text choices , showed set up scanner:

Window came up asking If I wanted to configure Paper Port 11

to the Scanner. Clicked on OK

After all was competed , Brother all now works as it should, scan, OCR etc.
