Windows 10: BROTHERS MC l2740DW PRINTER, SCANNER. not saving scans to my windows 10 HP laptop as PDFs...

I HAVE A BROTHERS MC l2740DW PRINTER, SCANNER. it no longer saves scans to my windows 10 HP laptop as PDF ILES BUT RATHER SAVES THEM S PICTURES. why and how do I fix this issue

Brother scanner not communicating with Windows 10

Have Windows 10 which replaced Windows 7. Under windows 10 have no problem printing to Brother-MFC-L2740DW printer/scanner. However can't scan. Seems not to even recognize a connection when asked to scan. All worked fine under Windows 7

What is the make and model of the brother printer/scanner?

Please try the steps recommended below to uninstall printer software

Press Windows key + X, click Apps & Features or Programs and Features

Select your Brother printer.

Select Uninstall.

Press Windows key + R, type control, hit Enter

Open Devices and Printers.

In the Devices and Printers window look for your Brother Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”

Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.

Type printui.exe /s and click OK.

Click on Drivers tab.

Look for Brother Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.

Select OK.

Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.

Close Devices and Printers.

Proceed to reinstall the driver.

I have a new laptop and although I can print from my brother printer/scanner I cannot scan it doesn't connect to the laptop. I didn't have a problem with my old laptop
