Windows 10: Browser doesn't open when a hyperlink is opened from inside app Therefore OpenWith.exe fault

Hello, I am having an issue with a user, using the Therefore application. As part of using this application, certain functions open up within a web browser to use/complete. Therefore is supposed to use whatever your default browser is set as, and open in that. However, pressing the button which is supposed to open the browser does nothing. If I reset the default app settings to default, the application will open Edge once, and then not again if tried. Why Edge doesn´t open any Google www-sites? I am able to open the same Google-sites with any other browsers.

 

Microsoft Outlook.com app not opening hyperlinks

I have searched the web to see why outlook.com does not open hyperlinks.
There seem to be many people with this issue.

Here is the background:

Recently, I have not been able to open hyperlinks when I use the Mail app for Hotmail/outlook.
When I click on a hyperlink, I see a flashing icon for Microsoft Edge and if I click on it, the destination hyper link has opened in the browser.
It should not be necessary to manually open the browser to see the results of the hyperlink.
I do not understand why this has changed as I never had this problem before.

My account is at home and the same problems exists on two of my computers at home.

Interestingly, I have updated my windows 10 pro recently to 2004 64 bit and I am wondering if there is an issue with the update.

Many responses suggest that there may be broken or corrupted registry keys and I have tried to fix them with no luck.

My default browser is Microsoft Edge. I have tried IE and Chrome as the default browser and the same situation exists with the icons for these browsers flashing as did Microsoft Edge.

I have tried rebooting after changing the default browser but no difference.
I have reverted to Microsoft Edge and still no change hyperlinks don’t open automatically.

As a last resort, I have tried going to outlook.com and opening my account from the web browser and guess what the hyperlink works just like it always has.
Similarly, in Chrome it works as well.

Conclusion: There seems to be some issue with the
Mail app that is causing the problem of not opening hyperlinks directly.

Question to Microsoft or community: is there a fix for this issue?
If not should there be?

My "Openwith" & "Open File Location" open is disabled and appears greyed out. What can I do to restore it?

I have tried fixing it with registry fix available online ("Openwith missing" fix).

I've updated the device.

I have tried scanning it with Bit-Defender for any issues.

Nothing worked.

Please suggest a solution as soon as possible.
