Windows 10: Browser pops up whenever I click any icon in my desktop

Today, as if by magic, my browser decided that it'd pop up whenever i double-clicked any of the icons in my desktop. If i open a file, pop goes the browser to full-screenif i open another program, there goes the browser againit used to be that i'd open a file not in fullscreen mode and the browser would stay put. I'd only see my start screen with the wallpaper and my icons and the file there, opened into a box, as i've done for years. but TODAY, for some inexplicable reason, maybe machine self consciousness or something, my browser has decided 'u know what, ill jump to fullscreen whenever th

Remove Linux Desktop Icons

I am not sure whether this will work (Ubuntu does not have icons like that on the desktop by default), but I suggest opening the trash bin and sweeping the icons into the window showing the trash bin.

 

Desktop Icons Won't Stay Put

As per the issue description I understand that you are facing issues with desktop icons.

I suggest you try the following step in order to arrange the icons.

• Right click on the desktop.
• Click on view
• Check the option auto arrange icons.

Hi Sheena,

Pop ups can be distracting for some, and depending on your reference, you can disable the desktop pop ups by following these steps:

• Click Start or the Windows logo and go to Settings (gear icon).
• Go to System and choose Notification & actions.
• Under Notifications, turn off Get tips, tricks, and suggestions as you use Windows or whatever you want to turn off.
• Close the window and it will automatically save the changes.
