Windows 10: BSOD 0xc242 kernel is missing or damaged + administrator password incorrect

I got a BSOD yesterday night and have been trying to resolve it myself by running bootrec and bootsect /ht60 commands through command prompt.
Yesterday I was able to open command prompt and select other recovery options.

Today when I'm trying to enter command prompt as yesterday, it's asking for my account password.


Though I'm sure if I earlier set-up some different password than those what I usually use, all my passwords are coming back incorrect. I have tried the PIN also but that doesn't seem to be working either.


How to reset my admin account password while in BSOD situation.


I have linked my live.com email account to my windows account.

Administrator level User

Got the laptop. It's a Lenovo G500 so possibly has Lenovo stuff in the way? Anyway, booted it normally and it opens into a regular account without admin privileges. Rebooted it into Recovery mode (per Option 5) and get Lenovo logo and Preparing Automatic Repair message; then Select Account + "You need to sign in as an administrator to continue but there aren't any administrator accounts on this PC". There is an option "Forgot your password or don't see your account?" but selecting that brings up a screen which should list admin accounts but there aren't any. Pressing the only option on that page Restart leads eventually to a BSOD with Stop code: 0xc00002e3 (which I know is misconfigured o/s or missing or damaged system files).

Can anybody suggest next steps in resolving this?

 

The Password is Incorrect

I have tried login in to my computer on Windows 10 but it shows password is incorrect. I have followed the steps indicated but it is still showing that the password is incorrect. Please advise.

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums. In this case I suggest you to try converting your account into administrator. Follow the steps below,

1. Search for Run on
   Windows search bar.
   
2. Type netplwiz in the run window and click on OK.
   
3. It would prompt you for password of admin account, put in the password.
   
   If you have not set any password, just click on OK.
   
4. Double click on the user account you want to change and go to
   Group Membership.
   
5. Now select Administrator and click on
   Apply and OK.
