    BSOD 2-10min after Win10 update (nvlddmkm.sys/ntoskrnl/pci.sys)

    Hello,

After my upgrade to Windows 10 I'm been experiencing BSOD every 2 to 30 minutes (sometimes even at startup).
I tired uninstalling drivers and installing from safe boot mode, without success.
I've uploaded my last few crash dumps (last one after installing the NVIDIA drivers that popped out this very afternoon).

I've spent the last 2 days looking around for a solution and trying some of the stuff that seemed to have worked for other people, but I still get BSOD. BSOD 2-10min after Win10 update (nvlddmkm.sys/ntoskrnl/pci.sys) :( Halp!

    :)

    Windows 10 - Video_TDR_Failure (NVLDDMKM.SYS) Video TDR Failure - BSOD - Win 10

Here is a slightly different take on the nvlddmkm.sys BSOD problem. Maybe it has been discussed already but I cannot find any. I have a Dell M2400 (yes, its old but perfectly funtional!). The latest Win10 Feature Update 1709 will update the nvlddmkm.sys
at about the 54% point on the third restart causing BSOD. Previously that was not a problem since I can use troubleshoot and overwrite the driver resetting it back to the original one after the update completed upon BSOD on final restart. The older driver
had always worked but any newer ones causes BSOD. However, this time Windows Update insist on rolling Win10 back to the previous version before completion. This causes the recurring and continuous update/rollback with no way to correct it. I understand the
need to update the nvlddmkm.sys. But until nVidia decide to provide a proper update, any Win10 update will essentially stop. I think that at the very least, if a new video driver fails during update, a VGA driver should be substituted by Windows Update and
complete the process. This can go for any driver where a generic functional driver exist. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?

best to let windows do the nvidia updates and remove GeForce experience as they fight each other and can cause driver issues...
if you can creat a boot USB pen using windows media creator, go to repair option ( second screen ) then troubleshooting try repair or go back to an earlier restore point or using command prompt run these individually......worked for someone else on these forums
    bootrec /fixmbr
    bootrec.exe /fixboot
    bootrec.exe /RebuildBcd

or you can reset windows, with option to keep files......

    good luck...
let me know how it goes..

    Yeaaah, ... right, ... no.

I deleted Geforce Experience and the NVIDIA drivers, but I can't get the files from Media creator on my USB stick, as I get blue screens too often and can never complete the download.

Will try downloading from Safe boot with network, but it will take some time ...

I joined the crash dumps I had since last post and my attempts at doing what you sugested.

I managed to create the bootable USB. I tried repair, but it said that nothing could be done. I then tried the command lines, the first too completed successfully, but the /RebuildBcd returned "Total identified Windows installations: 0" Is that normal?

Well, I haven't crashed for 24h, and could play video games and stream videos, which used to trigger a crash faster. I hope it stays like this.

I used god mode to acces some windows udate options and disable the automaticdriver updates from Windows. I then installed the latest NVIDIA drivers and made sure they weren't replaced by Windows.

Good news is they weren't, bad news is that I know it because they appear up to date in the crash dump I got since -_-.

Oh, and now Windows can't find my NVIDIA GPU ...
