  1. BSOD a few months after Bios Update, volmgr 162 and Kernal Error 41

So, Sometime either late last year, or early this year, I updated my Asus TUF Gaming B365m-plus non-Wifi motherboard UEFI to the latest update That is currently still the latest UEFI Update which adds support for Resizable Bar, as I had intended on getting an Intel Arc GPU. I ended up finding out that even though it still supports Resizable Bar In someway I guess Intel GPU's still won't support it. I went with a nVidia GTX 1070 that I bought off my brother. Well, starting back in late May, my rig, which consists of:-Intel Core I7 9700k processor-Asus TUF Gaming B365m-plus non-Wifi Model Mo

Windows BSOD with Event 162 volmgr & Event 41 Kernel-Power

I am receiving regular BSOD errors with the error PFN_LIST_CORRUPT. In the event viewer I can see error event 162 volmgr & critical event 41 kernel-power occur at the time of the crash. The crash can occur at any time but seems to be more frequent when waking from inactivity.

I have completely wiped and re-installed windows 11, run restoro, sfc, windows memory diagnostic and 4 passes of memtestx86 with no errors found. I have also tried installing new RAM and I'm still getting the error.

Any suggestions as to the cause would be greatly appreciated.

  3. Windows 11 volmgr 162 kernel-power 41 BSOD

    Hi Matthew,

My name is Igor, I have 12 Microsoft MVP awards. It's a pleasure for me to help others and I'll do all my best to help you. I'm sorry you have a problems.

Kernel-Power 41 (63) error mostly means the problem with power supplying. Can you replace power supply unit for checking? It may mean problems with power management in BIOS or motherboard too.

And you may try to turn off all CPU power saving modes in BIOS (different C states) to check if the problem is in motherboard.

    See some details at https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/client...

And this event can cause volmgr 162 error.

    Windows 11 volmgr 162 kernel-power 41 BSOD

Igor, I've replaced the power supply and cables with a brand new PSU and checked my BIOS settings for power saving modes but the error has still occurred:

Like before, the event viewer shows volmgr 162 in sequence right before kernel-power 41. In practice, the computer visuals froze and the audio hung up and buzzed for several minutes before rebooting automatically (same as always).

    Any updated advice? Thanks.
