BSOD after installing new PCIe Gen 4.0 SSD cloned from old Gen 3 SSD

Hi, I've been getting random BSODs during boot on my PC, which isn't terrible because I can get around it by restarting, and it'll usually boot into Windows fine, sometimes after another similar BSOD. However, it'll still be great to solve this issue. This seem to have happened since I installed a new PCIe Gen 4.0 SSD, which I cloned from a previous PCIe Gen 3.0 SSD, the latter of which I then formatted and am using just as a storage drive. My OS version is 19043.1083. I've tried using WinDbg to understand the cause of the issue but it doesn't pinpoint a driver error or any specific cause other than a generation Access Violation error. I see a lot of NTFS lines which leads me to believe it's something to do with storage. I've tested the RAM too with both TM5 and RAM Test 1.1.0.0 and both are stable after 6 hours or so of testing. The V2 logs are here: HOME-(2021-07-08_15-27-05).zip - Google Drive Thanks!

    :)

  4. BSOD after installing new PCIe Gen 4.0 SSD cloned from old Gen 3 SSD

Clone present nvme pcie ssd to replacement nvme pcie ssd?

I have a 500GB M.2 2280 NVMe PCIe SSD (boot drive) that I want to replace with a higher capacity M.2 card.

Where do I put the new SSD during the NVMe to NVMe cloning process? My mobo only has one M.2 slot for NVMe SSD's so do I want to use an external adapter for one of the M.2 cards? If so, do you have a recommendation?

If you have solved this issue for your desktop or laptop I would like your advice on if and what extra hardware you needed during the cloning.

please remember that I am dealing with PCIe NVMe drives ONLY. NO Sata is involved except possibly for a connecting cable from the desktop to an adapter. I am experienced with cloning SATA III drives but cloning NVMe is a little
    new to me.

Computer: Dell XPS 8920, 32GB ram.

Present SSD: KXG50ZNV512G NVMe Toshiba 512GB

New SSD: CT13049074 Crucial P1 NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD 1TB (or 2TB if available soon) or similar storage device.

Windows 10 Pro for Workstations, version 1809.
