Windows 10: BSOD after pc wakes up from sleep

For the past few weeks I have been getting bsod when ever put my pc to sleep and after a few seconds or minutes I get DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE bsod. I updated windows and all the drivers on my pc and but am still getting bsod. One thing to note is I have malwarebytes premium installed and whenever I get this bsod and the pc restarts the malwarebytes web protection gets turned off and I cannot turn it on anymore and have to reinstall it again.

Let me know if you guys need any more info and I will try and see what I can find.

Blue Screen die (BSOD), Windows 10 Professional Laptop Machine

I can confirm that this problem would occur every time I wake the computer up from sleep mode.

After a few seconds waking up from sleep mode, the computer will freeze and then BSOD occurs

Very annoying.

 

BSOD when wake up from sleeping mode. HELP!!!! Mostly 0x1a, but 0x7e, 0x1e, 0x1b, 0x50, 0x139 and more.

I am running your 1st test. I did what you say in the wiki. And after reboot, my PC can run but my mouse indicator is shaking... I don't know if the test is running after reboot or not. I type verifier /querysettings and it says many of the selected
driver is verified, I don't know when this test will end but my operation is kind of lagging together with when the mouse is shaking. And as my BSOD cause is waking up from sleep mode, can I keep doing sleep and wake? Will the Verifier still work after a round
of sleep and wake? What if it just like this? I cannot use my PC like this stuck situation for 36 hrs....

BTW, start from today, the BSOD often happens when sleep more than 30 mins. And sometimes it won't become BSOD and just system halted. Pls tell me what to do. Thx.

Include PSU. cooler, case, peripherals and anything attached to the computer by wired or wireless (mouse, keyboard, headset, printer, xbox, etc.)

2) Please run this log collector and post a zip into the thread:

3) open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:
4) sfc /scannow
5) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
6) chkdsk /scan
7) powercfg.exe /hibernate off

9) Uninstall Malwarebytes

As of late, I have also been encountering continuous BSOD when returning from sleep mode. In my case the culprit was indeed our AV. Once it was uninstalled I have not been able to replicate this problem. Currently reviewing our AV to find a proper solution.

 

Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:
1) sfc /scannow
2) dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth
3) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
4) chkdsk /scan
5) powercfg.exe /hibernate off
6) When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread

After the above steps please run and post a new zip: log collector v2-beta06.zip

Uninstall then re-install xbox:

To uninstall xbox open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:

Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.XboxApp | Remove-AppxPackage

Removed malwarebytes as well. Also removed the xbox driver. But it gets installed when I plug in my nvidia shield controller (I have unhooked it for now). Using that as my primary gaming device atm though.

All done. FYI already had latest intel drivers. Updated the bios.



After all this tested out sleep and wake up and no bsod. Hooked the controller back again, put the pc to sleep and woke it up after a few minutes and bam there is the bsod again. Tried just unhooking the controller and made pc sleep and woke up again and got bsod. So removed the xbox360 driver completely. Tested out again and no bsod this time. Seems like its the xusb22.sys that is causing this. Will put pc to sleep again tonight and test to see if I get bsod again tomorrow.

 

The windows operating system on the computer is Version 10.0.16299 Build 16299
It is the latest version.
This latest version can become corrupt.
To test for operating system corruption we use sfc /scannow and dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth.
In a similar fashion the latest driver can become corrupt.
So the software that identifies the latest driver is only as good as identifying the latest driver.
It does not indicated whether it is or is not corrupt.
So drivers need to be updated.
Sometimes they need to be uninstalled and reinstalled.
To test for driver corruption we use windows driver verifier.
When drivers are involved in a crash they can be the cause of the crash or they could have misbehaved because of the relationship with other drivers.
So for driver problems they are fixed by updating, uninstalling and reinstalling, or uninstalling.

Just had another bsod at around 1:45 am. This bsod somehow removed the last 2 minidumps so I cannot get that. Here is the zip of the latest bsod

Even before opening this thread I downloaded Intel Driver & Support Assistant that automatically updated my drivers. Checked again yesterday and today and it is showing that I have the latest driver.

 

When the computer has the latest edition of Windows the operating system can become corrupt.
The same with drivers.
So drivers have to be fixed.
What were the steps that were made in the earlier post to fix the driver?

 

You mean the xusb22 driver right? Then if so, I did not fix it. I just uninstalled it and unhooked the game controller.
