  1. BSOD after update KB4023057 and possibly also KB5005033

    Dear community,I've been struggling with a BSOD after an update for about a week now. I encountered the problem most of the cases right after the update and it happened twice when working in a legal version of Adobe Illustrator when trying to save a file after creating a shortcut - this particular BSOD might not have to do with the update, though, but with Illustrator instead. Each time, I could not enter Windows, so I returned to a system restore point to solve the problem. The problem happens again and again, though, so I had a few question:- Is there a way to prevent Windows from instal

  2. KB4023057 Error 0x80070643

    I have Windows 10 (1803) and got this error above when trying to install the update "KB4023057".

    None of the "Solutions" or "Suggestions" (uninstalling, stopping services, ISO-image, repair-tool, a.s.o.) helped.

    So I tried to download and install it by myself. .. And successfully installed the update.

    I took these Steps (maybe, you only need steps 4-6):

    1: Download of Patch under the official microsoft update download page "Microsoft Update Catalog"

    2: Unpack the downloaded package in a temporary folder.

    3: Try to run the unpacked installer "windows10.0-kb4023057-x64.msi" as admin via CMD

    -> Error "Cannot write to file "C:\Program Files\rempl\ <blablabla>"

    4: Renamed the folder mentioned above to "C:\Program Files\rempl-OLD"

    5: Run the setup again.

    -> Success

    6: Searched for new Updates with the regular Windows-update-function.

    -> Success ... Update is no longer shown.

    Maybe it is enough for you to only run steps 4-6.

  3. problems downloading & applying updates KB4023057 & KB4467702

    I get these recurrent errors in Windows Update --

    • 2018-11 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-based Systems (KB4467702) - Error 0x80070015
    • 2018-12 Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-based Systems (KB4023057) - Error 0x80070015

    I stumbled on this resource (WAY too unintuitive to find that, Microsoft! It should be linked visibly in
    Windows Update) --

    Microsoft Update Catalog

    ...where I was able to successfully download other updates which also produced recurrent errors EXCEPT NOT
    KB4023057 and KB4467702 --

    • KB4467702 I could download and run the installer and it repeatedly tells me my system doesn't need that item, even after restarting the system. Then WHY does
      Windows Update think I need it?
    • KB4023057 - is absent in Microsoft Update Catalog

  4. BSOD after update KB4023057 and possibly also KB5005033

    Update KB4023057

    Would installing Windows 10 version 2004 get rid of this fault?

    I assume what is causing it is that KB4023057 says it was installed 30/09/2020 on my update history but does not appear in the installed update list.

    Would version 2004 effectively install a new version and overwrite version 1909 which is what I have?
