    BSOD after update

In the last 4 days I have had 2 systems, seemingly running fine, suddenly pop up a BSOD. The first system had the HDD system files scrambled and I've had to replace the disk. The second system just did the same thing 5 minutes ago. The BSOD pops up, an error message is displayed, it generates an error message and reboots. At present the system is going thruogh the automated recovery process and removing the last update. What do I need to do to prevent this from continuing to happen? The current system is running Windows 10 Pro. The first system was running Windows 10 Home.

    :)

    BSOD- atikmpag.sys

This is most likely due to an installation/upgrade error with ATI driver's. I suggest doing DriveSweeper and the following:
    • Drivesweeper all drivers & in Safe Mode
    • Unistall all drivers that aren't used in DriveSweeper (CCC Profiler Updates, MSI AfterBurner, anything related to ATI that use's it's drivers.)
    • After you do this, the first thing you need to do is go into Device Manager and Unistall your ATI Drivers

Once your done, restart the PC and then try installing the latest drivers.

I had several issues with this in the past, but I overcame it with logical reasoning and whenever I have a driver issue, I just use these steps and I always overcome the problem.

    Best of luck! *Toast :toast:

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Thanks for the suggestions and for the time to respond BSOD after update :) Best regards.

And thanks for the tip of that program, I'll have it on my list.
