    BSOD - After Win10 upgrade - Bad Pool Header (0x19)

    Hi all,

    Upgraded a stable Win7 laptop to windows 10 and started getting Bad Pool Header BSODs.
    Some I cleared ( It used to happen immediately when connecting the network cable)
    After reading the forums and looking into dump files (excellent tutorials...) I am not much wiser.

    It happens a short time after I connect with the regular windows VPN to our office.

    Attached is the dump files...

    Thanks
    Avi

    :)

    After upgrading from Windows 7 to 10, I recurrently get the Bad Pool Header BSOD and Windows 10 won't run

    • Downloaded and installed Windows 10 as an upgrade from Windows 7 which was working fine
    • Installation went well but, when Windows 10 started up, after a few moments, I get the BSOD Bad Pool Header error and it reboots;
    • After rebooting, I again get the BSOD Bad Pool Header.
    • Ultimately, rolled back to Windows 7 because I never had a stable Windows 10 desktop.
    • Once, upon rebooting, it performed a CHKDSK--no errors found;
    • Once, I appeared to have a stable Windows 10 desktop--but then developed the BSOD Bad Pool Header when I opened Outlook or Explorer for the first time.
    Suggestions? I'm now back in Windows 7 and would like to use Windows 10.

  3. Windows 10 BSOD After Update On 13.10.2017 And By Using Mixed Reality Portal & Viewer

    Also I removed from registry Holographic First run succeed value. This also doesn't work. Also there was a win32kfull.sys BSOD after Bad Pool Header

    Hi Avi Hecht,

    From the 25+ dumps there are only 2 in the zip which do not contain much useful data.
    Please make sure you are not using any cleanup method like disk cleanup, they remove dumps that are necessary for troubleshooting.

    I suggest to perform a clean install, the upgrade causes most Windows 7 users problems that you can easily solve with a clean install.

    Don't forget to backup your stuff.

    Hi axe0,

    Thanks for your help.
    Unfortunately rebuilding a development LT is not a short project.... So I'll probably need to slog on or just roll back.
    There is no clean up process on my machine - its a user problem *sarc
    I just opened the dump files trying to figure things out and deleted them between crashes....

    I'll just have to slog on and try to find a solution.

    Thanks,
    Avi
