Windows 10: BSOD and Getting an Install Error - 0x80070002 when trying to install an update

The update is the 2024-05 cumulative update for windows 11 Version 23h2 for x64KB5037771I don't know if it is related but yesterday I got a BSOD: driver_irql_not_less_or_equal, after this I got an issue where my pin was not able to be retrieved or something like that and I had to generate a new pin, then I got into windows and all seemed good, but I noticed that the windows and the comma key do not work properly now, I have to press them multiple times for them to be detected and reinstalling synapse and the keyboard drivers and firmware did nothingThey were working fine before the BSODI

Error 0x80070002 when trying to update Windows

I have been having issues for months with Windows 10 updates failing due to Error 0x80070002 on my gaming laptop. The full message reads:

2019-06 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-based Systems (KB4503286) -Error 0x80070002.

I am currently on version 1803 (OS Build 17134.590) and I'm being told "You're currently running a version of windows that's nearing the end of support. We recommend you update to the most recent version of Windows 10 now to get the latest features and security improvements."

I have followed the instructions on Error Code 0x80070002 Fixed – Eassos Step-by-Step Tutorial but this hasn't resolved the problem. Does anybody know how to fix this?

 

Error 80070002 when trying to install update KB939653

Can anyone help. I have Vista Home Premium edition and I am trying to install the important security update for Explorer (KB939653). I get error code 80070002. Nothing seems to work! Please help. thanks

I am also trying to install adobe photoshop and am getting errors regarding my file manifest..interestingly enough....this update (KB...above) includes manifest file updates!

So I think if I can get this update to load...I'll be ok...

On phone with Microsoft for several DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nothing!

2004 update windows 10 error 0x80070002

Hello everyone,

thanks to some of the suggestions here and to some from other sources I have managed to fix the 0x80070002 error breaking up my feature update to 2004.

For completeness' sake and since it may help others, the following steps worked for me.

1. Download Media Creation Tool from Microsoft's official website
2. Create a bootable USB drive with the MCT
3. Boot up from this USB Drive
4. Choose install settings, click 'Next', but on the next screen select "Repair your computer" instead of "Install"
5. Choose "Troubleshoot" -> "Startup Repair" and let it finish
6. Restart into Windows and attempt the usual Windows update

It looks like the BCD on my computer had been damaged by the boot loader (Windows 10 + Recovery partition) and running the "Startup Repair" from the installation USB Drive corrected the errors.
