Windows 10: BSOD and STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION in Chrome browser

Frequently, I get a STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION error in Chrome when watching youtube videos or generally just browsing. Today I got a BSOD when nothing heavy was running. I suspect it's a memory issue but the windows memory diagnostic tool didn't come up with anything.I've attached an image of the browser error I run into frequently. I would suggest you to try these steps to see if it resolves the issue.

• Go to Start > Settings > System.
• Choose Default apps, then scroll down to
  Web browser.
• Tap or click the browser that’s currently listed as your default, then choose Chrome from the list of apps

1. Unistall Google Chrome.
2. Download & re-install Google Chrome.

• Which browser pops-up after the Windows startup (Microsoft Edge/ Internet Explorer)?
• Which is the default web browser on your computer?

I suggest you to make Google Chrome as a default web browser also, try to edit the home page in Google Chrome and check if it helps.
