I have a Lenovo Thinkpad X240 and was messing about with a Linix Mint OS on a USB HDD, now when I start the laptop up It goes staright to the BSOD in the pic.

The one thing I did do was to make a Windows 10 recovery disk on a seperate USB HDD, seperate from the Linux, now when I start the laptop it recognises the Bios then the BSOD appears as in the pic, have made several other recovery disks using Windows 10 ISO and still it goes back to the pic below and if I just leave alone, it just keeps looping on to and off after posting the Bios, have tried everything I know has anyone come across this problem and how the hell do I get out of it, just lastly the Linux OS knows that the internal HDD is there, any ideas please. BAD_POOL_HEADER BSOD, Dump File attached

    Hi Groggubus,

Welcome to the 10forums BSOD at Boot, see attached pic. :)

Please remove / disable items from the startup in taskmanager
These programs could interfere with the boot process giving you trouble and increase the boot time.

Daemon tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known cause for BSOD's.
Please remove Daemon Tools and run the SPTD pass through remover.

    1. Uninstall Daemon Tools
    2. Download the SPTD standalone installer and follow these steps:
      • Double click the executable to open it
      • Click on the button shown below

BSOD at Boot, see attached pic. [IMG]

If the button is grayed out, like in the image, there is no more SPTD installation on your system, and you can close the window

Please follow this suggestion for the BSOD
    1. Please open BitDefender and go to the modules,
    2. Go to the firewall settings,
    3. Uncheck 'Block port scans in the network',
    4. Reboot your system <-- IMPORTANT

  3. ughhh! BSOD on boot

I guess my computer BSOD on boot right before getting to windows. not sure what the problem is though, everything is stable.

It gave me a list of two files in windows that could have caused the problems
