  1. BSOD. Attempted switch from DPC. Kernel-Power. Event ID 41. Task 63

    Hello:

I am getting BSOD's: Attempted switch from DPC. Kernel-Power. Event ID 41. Task 63.

I installed a new hard drive and Windows 10 to fix my laptop from previous BSOD I was having with Windows 8.1 but now I am getting a different BSOD. Usually It happens when I have to restart the computer after installing software/drivers. Also after I used the program to test the memory RAM: mdsched.exe.

I will really appreciate if you can help me to fix this problem.

    Thank you.

    :)

Dell XPS laptop crashes if mains power removed but battery 100% full and "healthy"

Thanks for your reply, but I still have the problem.

I changed the power setting to 'Balanced' and the troubleshooter didn't find any problems.

I think the Kernel Power Event ID 41, Task Category 63 I have in the Event Log is the key to solving this.

I found a similar thread at
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/kernel-power-event-id-41-task63/b42b03a7-f3c5-4276-940c-f094608c7a5c

on this form, but that didn't seem to find a solution either.

  5. Problem solved. *Smile
    It was the power supply!!!
Also I installed the driver from Fresco to fix the problem with the USB 3.0 port.
    Thank you Ztruker.

  7. Unfortunately I still have the same problem. Best buy thinks it could be the motherboard but they don't replace them. I took it to another place and they couldn't find any problems. Maybe I should install Windows 7.

BSOD. Attempted switch from DPC. Kernel-Power. Event ID 41. Task 63

You mean you are getting Attempted switch from DPC. Kernel-Power. Event ID 41. Task 63 again?

If so, are you getting a dump. If yes, run DM_Log_collector again and upload the zip file.
