Windows 10: BSOD Bad System Config Info after KB4528760

Hi


I'd appreciate some help here - my PC is stuffed.

Windows update KB4528760 was downloaded and installed overnight on the 16th on January. Log shows it was installed successfully.

When I logged in Wifi wasn't working, so I restarted the machine.


I then got blue screen with Bad System Config Info.


Automatic Repair does not work. I do not have any system restore points or system image backups.


Based on other posts I have seen, there have been issues with this update, but I haven't seen any that have caused blue screen or how to recover from it.


"Bad System Config Info" seems to imply a corrupt registry or similar, so I'm not sure trying to uninstall updates will help.

Hi John,

Thanks so much for your suggestion. Sadly, the fixes did not work, and I'm still getting "bad system config info."

MS support is still not honoring phone calls reserved in advance/promises to call back in a few minutes-- must say I'm disappointed.

Any further ideas?
