    Whenever I sleep my computer, there is a chance that I cannot wake it again. I open the computer lid and the power button lights up, but the screen is still dark. After a considerable length of time, the computer reboots itself.

    Laptop Colour Calibration Resetting After Sleep/Awake


    Update: I found it's actually not related to sleep. If I sleep the laptop from the start menu or by the keyboard sleep button, then it awakes with calibrated colours. Though if I put it to sleep by closing the lid, it awakes uncalibrated. So I changed the settings to only turn off the screen when the lid is closed, and sure enough it messes up the calibration. Any clues?

    Also to the mods: Could you move the thread to a more appropriate forum? I realise this might not be the most suitable one.

    I'd already tried using default power settings - no change.

    As you suggested I created a test user account, that also fails to awake from sleep..

    Thanks for your advice, any suggestions for next steps?

    Hey folk; Just a quick question here about awaking laptop from sleep with lid closed. I am attached to a separate screen and keep laptop closed at all times. Have tried turning on (HID-compliant devices) from human interface. No joy. This is a new Alienware
    17 r4 with windows 10. I want my remote keyboard and or mouse to wake the unit from sleep. HELP?
