BSOD CLASSPNP.SYS and lastly MEMORY MANAGMENT.

I am repeatedly getting a BSOD. Log zip attached.

Initially it was CLASSPNP.SYS crash and auto reboot whereupon it would work ok for a while. Picture attached.

BUT JUST NOW IT WAS "MEMORY MANAGMENT" stopcode and reboot to desktop. I would sign in and the BSOD would appear again reboot etc. I turned off the PC with the switch at the back and can use the PC again. Picture attached.

I also get BitDefender Threat Scanner.dmp white box on shutdown sometimes. Picture attached.

    I have tried many things;
    1. Updated the BIOS.
    2. Did the Intel ME security Asus update.
    3. Reloaded Chipset Drivers.
    4. Updated Graphics card driver.
    5. SDAV.dll file replaced in Spybot Search and Destroy.
    6. Uninstalled/Reinstalled Kaspersky Internet Security.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Philip.

    :)

    BSOD Classpnp.sys

    Hi,

The error appears to be caused by the klbackupdisk.sys :

    BugCheck 1E, {ffffffffc0000005, fffff80b62943fb7, 0, 2c}

*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for klbackupdisk.sys

*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for
    klbackupdisk.sys

    Probably caused by : partmgr.sys ( partmgr!PmGlobalDispatch+fe )

avp.exe is the process that crashed:

    PROCESS_NAME: avp.exe

The klbackupdisk.sys and avp.exe are components of Kaspersky so try uninstalling and then reinstalling Kaspersky using the latest version.

If the issue persists consider contacting Kaspersky.

BSOD CLASSPNP.SYS and lastly MEMORY MANAGMENT.

    Hello Philip *Smile

There are two drivers that are identified as possible causes:
    • Kaspersky : klbackupdisk.sys - dated Fri Sep 29 11:24:08 2017
    • Aomei BackUpper driver: ambakdrv.sys - dated Tue Dec 25 08:46:35 2012

For now try removing the Kaspersky and Aomei software and see if it stops the BSOD. Windows Defender will work quite well as an AV tool.

The first image displayed Bitdefender and one of the BSOD was related to Kaspersky.
Please list all of the AV or malware software that is in use on the computer (automatic and manual).

    Thanks for your replies.
Re other AV software I attach a screenshot from a Belarc Advisor scan that lists all the software installed on my PC.
    I have highlighted some.

I also attach a Backup and Sync Blue Screen I get related I think to Google Photos I use but this might be separate issue.

In addition I use these Portable programs mostly only occasionaly unless stated:

Trusteer Rapport in Firefox and Chrome for security - used often
    CPU-Z
    HWINFO64
    FreFileSync
    Prime95
    Anyburn
    TLP Too Long Path Detector
    Peazip
    Notepad - used a lot
    NotePad++ - used alot
    Channelizer - used occasionally
    Putty
    AdwCleaner

I will wait for any replies before disabling Kaspersky and Amoei Backerupper. Reinstalling Kaspersky I think gave some respite.

It is hard to be sure but I think problems occur when in Firefox or leaving it - I may be wrong.

    Thanks again.

BSOD CLASSPNP.SYS and lastly MEMORY MANAGMENT.

    Hello zbook.
I will do as you say.
Should I also uninstall SpyBot Search and Destroy as I believe it uses the BitDefender engine?

Please remove all AV products during the troubleshooting process using the applicable uninstall tools.
    Turn on Windows defender.
If there are no BSOD within 1 - 2 weeks after the BSOD troubleshooting is completed you can reinstall AV products 1 at a time.
The aim is to have sufficient stability so that you know there are no longer any BSOD. Then you can install software and if there are any new BSOD have a strong cause and effect. If the re-installation of the software produces BSOD then look for another AV product. If the re-installation of the AV product does not product BSOD then you can continue to use the software.

Drivers get corrupted and may need reinstallation of the same driver that is not corrupted. The AV products can confound the troubleshooting process. So if you can uninstall the AV products and reinstall them 1 at a time over days that will improve the BSOD troubleshooting.

There should only be 1 always on AV product other than Spybot or Malwarebytes as the AV products can interfere with each other. So AV protection can be reduced by having AV compete with each other.

    In case this helps others:

I tried do as advised above. Some problems were solved for a while but could come back or new ones came up. I think I was doing more harm than good.

I sorted all the problems I was having by:
    1. Using the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool to create a W10 USB stick. See: Download Windows 10
    2. Powered up the PC, browsed to "setup.exe" on the stick and opted to keep progs and data. Don't let PC boot from the USB stick as I don't believe you get the same option so it needs a PC that sort of works.
    3. Two or three hours later all done!
    4. I did have to reinstall my 9 year old scanner software but that was pretty much it.
    5. No BSODs or crashes since doing this 7 weeks ago.

Thank you all for your help. It is good to know there are people like you out there. The moral support was itself a help.
