Windows 10: BSOD: CLOCK WATCHDOG TIMEOUT, DRIVER VERIFICATION FAILURE, IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL, WHEA...

BSOD, possible EXTERNAL SOUNDCARD, AUDIO SERVICES ISSUE.

• sfc scan now
• windows memory diagnostics tool
• updated Windows and rolled back
• full windows virus scan
• reset Windows audio services
• reinstalled Sonarworks virtual audio driver
• updated AMD radeon drivers
• updated GIGABYTE BIOS
• reinstalled UAD console driver audio program for external soundcard Apollo this is working and I record with it. If I turn off the external Apollo while PC running it crashes the computer.

- connected by thunderbolt 2 - 3 adapter

- to Gigabyte Alpine Ridge thunderbolt add in card

- have had to insert and reinsert card before does not fully fit case area where it screws into place, I use paper under the side of the card to support against gravity

- tried different thunderbolt cable


BSOD's sometimes triggered by entering the forum discord when it connects to audio inputs.

Other times triggered while using Ableton 10.1.9 Audio DAW

Sometimes BSODs multiple times in a row, without creating dump files

Sometimes Ableton or Chrome freezes and slowly other windows freeze, including task manager requiring me to open a new task manager

Restarting fixes for awhile.

I received BSOD saying CLOCK WATCHDOG TIMEOUT

Hello, recently my system was hard freezing and not restarting by itself so I had to do it manually, but today I received a BSOD saying CLOCK WATCHDOG TIMEOUT, after researching a bit on the forums I did the suggested driver verification thing. After that
I had a BSOD saying DRIVER VERIFIED DETECTED VIOLATION. I'm posting the link for the dump file, thanks in advance.

Found my fix:

1. Downloaded a current (April 2018) ISO of Windows 10 64-bit from Microsoft

1. Downgraded product from "Enterprise" to "Pro"
   
2. HIGHLY LIKELY issue with UPDATES for Spectre and Meltdown
   

Windows now works!! those new updates are not installed yet (unless they are part of the new ISO i used.)

ISSUE OS:

Windows 10 Enterprise.

HARDWARE:

MSI X370 SLI PLUS, Ryzen 1600, 32GB DDR4 2133, 250G SSD, 850W TT Gold PSU and Gigabyte RX580 8GB

ISSUE DESCRIPTION: Fresh install, OS works, installed drivers and apps (not Nortons tho) from the MSI dvd. Windows worked.....updates....games started to be installed....tried Northgard annnnnd crash.
And it went from there.
BSOD (the times i actually got one):

ERROR:

BSOD Clock watchdog timeout

EFFORTS:
removed apps. then removed drivers. then readded fresh new latest drivers for one thing* at a time.

Same issue, Clock watchdog timeout BSOD after 1minute to maybe 5 mins uptime.

I even tried a different VGA card.

Hopefully this will help others as I go thru this I will update on progress and a fix.
