    BSOD "CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED", nothing works


    This was caused by an automatic Windows 10 update on 12/17/2020

    • Startup Repair doesn't work,
    • Safe Mode in any form does'nt start,
    • System Restore from a previous point doesn't do anything,
    • Uninstall latest quality update doesn't work
    • Reset this PC with "Keep my files"doesn't work.
    • I can't even start from my old Ubuntu startup flash drive

    I had a similar BSOD episode two weeks ago but it was a SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION. I resolved it from the Safe Mode and Clean Boot was working by running Verifier and replacing the display driver. I stopped all updates for two weeks, and it worked perfectly for those two weeks. Then on 12/17, the automatic update restarted and gave me a very bad "CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED" BSOD.


    I certainly don't want to lose all my files, but would accept reluctantly to re-install all my applications and re-create the related settings.

    Please let me know :

    1 is there a method to restart this machine so I can run some troubleshooting?

    2 or if I have to re-install windows, how should I go about it, knowing that my installation disc is a Windows 7 Home Premium that I purchased in 2012.

    Hi,

    In order to resolve your concern, we suggest that you to follow these steps:

    • If you've installed any new apps or devices, uninstall or unplug them and restart your PC.
    • Make sure your PC has the latest updates:
    • Go to the search box.
    • Type Windows Update then Enter.
    • Select Check for updates.
    • In the Settings menu, select Check for updates button.
    • When it's finished, restart your PC.

    BSOD Error: CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED

    My laptop experienced a BSOD with an analysis by "Who Crashed" as follows-

    On Sat 11/10/2018 2:08:03 PM your computer crashed or a problem was reported

    crash dump file: C:\WINDOWS\MEMORY.DMP

    This was probably caused by the following module: ntkrpamp.exe (nt!PsSetLegoNotifyRoutine+0x46C)

    Bugcheck code: 0xEF (0xFFFFFFFFA8C97440, 0x0, 0x0, 0x0)

    Error: CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED

    Bug check description: This indicates that a critical system process died.

    There is a possibility this problem was caused by a virus or other malware.

    A third party driver was identified as the probable root cause of this system error. It is suggested you look for an update for the following driver: ntkrpamp.exe .

    Google query: ntkrpamp.exe CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED

    BSOD "CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED", nothing works

    Critical_process_died with BSoD

    I recently upgraded my HP G6 Pavilion laptop from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, after a few weeks while I was working with my laptop it gave a BSoD with the error Critical_Process_Died and needs to restart. Ever since then I can't access my login screen as
    it keeps looping during boot. Please anyone with a viable solution that doesn't require me loosing my files. Thanks
