Windows 10: BSoD [CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED]

Discus and support BSoD [CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED] in Windows 10 BSOD Crashes and Debugging to solve the problem; I have been receiving multiple Blue Screens with the CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED stop code and have tried all the trouble shooting steps usually recommended...   1. BSoD [CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED]


    I have been receiving multiple Blue Screens with the CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED stop code and have tried all the trouble shooting steps usually recommended when trying to repair such as (but not limited to as I may have forgotten some):

    1) Update drivers

    2) Update Windows

    3) Reinstall graphics drivers

    4) sfc

    5) dism

    6) chkdsk

    7) Antivirus scan (Windows built-in & Malwarebytes)

    8) Full system restore

    9) Reset Windows 10


    I am still getting the blue screen so I suspect it's a hardware issue.


    So my question is this: how can I figure out which piece of hardware it is (if it really is hardware) so I know what to buy/get fixed?


    The built-in Windows Diagnostic Data Viewer app has a 'Hardware Error' but multiple 'Shut Down Unexpectedly' logs as well, each with different looking Bucket IDs.

  2. Critical_Process_Died BSOD

    Hi,

    In order to resolve your concern, we suggest that you to follow these steps:

    • If you've installed any new apps or devices, uninstall or unplug them and restart your PC.
    • Make sure your PC has the latest updates:
    • Go to the search box.
    • Type Windows Update then Enter.
    • Select Check for updates.
    • In the Settings menu, select Check for updates button.
    • When it's finished, restart your PC.

    BSOD Error: CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED

    My laptop experienced a BSOD with an analysis by "Who Crashed" as follows-

    On Sat 11/10/2018 2:08:03 PM your computer crashed or a problem was reported

    crash dump file: C:\WINDOWS\MEMORY.DMP

    This was probably caused by the following module: ntkrpamp.exe (nt!PsSetLegoNotifyRoutine+0x46C)

    Bugcheck code: 0xEF (0xFFFFFFFFA8C97440, 0x0, 0x0, 0x0)

    Error: CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED

    Bug check description: This indicates that a critical system process died.

    There is a possibility this problem was caused by a virus or other malware.

    A third party driver was identified as the probable root cause of this system error. It is suggested you look for an update for the following driver: ntkrpamp.exe .

    Google query: ntkrpamp.exe CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED

    BSoD [CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED]

    Several "CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED" BSODs on my laptop

    I reinstalled Windows, and my laptop did a BSOD again. It didn't save the dump file. The dump file I posted above was the only exception, and the only one that saved through the several crashes that have happened on my laptop. I'm assuming this is a hardware
    error now, but I can't find any hardware errors. I've ran memtest and internal diagnostics for hours. No errors were shown.

    My BSODs are a mix of "CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED" and "MEMORY_MANAGEMENT", the former being a tad more common. I'm not sure what step to take at this point.

    EDIT:

    I've also used Driver Verifier (no BSOD happened) and updated all my drivers/BIOS prior to the crash.
