    Apps won't update error code 0x80073cf9

    Right now I have Asphalt 8: Airborne, Demolition Derby, and Despicable Me that will not update and when I try to uninstall them the uninstall option is in grey and can not be selected. So I am in limbo. Can't use any apps or games that behave like this.
    Soft reboot does not help. Build 536.

    Multiple different bugchecks are there with various different probable cause. Among all those, two items might be interesting .....
    First:
    Code: KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE (139) A kernel component has corrupted a critical data structure. The corruption could potentially allow a malicious user to gain control of this machine.[/quote] And ....
    Code: ffffbe82`0ac946b8 fffff80c`0c4f407f*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for WdNisDrv.sys[/quote] WdNisDrv.sys is Windows Defender.

    Collectively it gives a hint of security threat. IMHO it will be the best to perform a clean reinstall at this stage.

    Good experience so far - no bsod crashes, including better app performance where apps themselves are not crashing. Thanks again for the recommendation.
