Windows 10: BSOD dpc_watchdog_violation

I'm having issues with Win10, i'm experiencing this BSOD, it has happened twice now randomly. The last software change I did was to update my video from this "amd-catalyst-15.7.1-win10-64bit", to this one "radeon-crimson-16.3.2-win10-64bit". BEfore the driver update i had never had any bsod. I made sure tha uninstalled correctly the old driver , I used the "Display Driver Uninstaller" to clean the old drivers, I have used this method before with no issues.

Are you still getting the DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION BSODs or...?

 

Dump points to nvstor.sys, part of the Nvidia driver.
The date on it is: Mon Apr 21 14:34:03 2014

nvsmu.sys is even older, dated: 22/03/2010

Do you have a on-board Nvidia video and a discreet AMD video card?

Hmmm, your MSI main board has the NVIDIA® GeForce 7025 Chipset. See if there is a later driver than the one currently installed. If not, make sure it's disabled in BIOS as that may prevent it's drivers from being loaded and resolve the BSODs you are seeing.

 

My current video card is AMD 7790 Dual OC 1gb. Unfortunately there is no recent driver for that chipset.
I've been using Win 10 since release, and this is the first time I have issues with it. I will check if is disabled in bios and report back

NVidia nForce SATA controller driver (nvstor.sys or nvraid.sys) can be replaced by Standard Dual-channel IDE controller driver (atapi.sys) included in Windows. This improves stability a bit, and furthermore, allows TRIM for SSD disks. But beware - if you do this change you cannot use nForce RAID anymore, use need to replace it by Storage Spaces technology, which is part of every Windows 10. However, I think that Storage Spaces mirror set isn't bootable as NVRaid mirror was.

 

I removed the nForce drivers two days ago and no BSOD so far
