  1. BSOD DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL(ndis.sys)

Hi everyone, first post, long time user at the Win7 forums and now here.

I recently started experiencing BSODs on my Asus UX501 laptop after upgrading from 8.1 to Win10 (thank god I didn't have to use Win8.1 for very long)

I've went through the event log and downloaded BlueScreenView but I still have no clue what's going on or what's causing this. I'm uploading a zip file with 6 DMP files, stretching from the 5th of October until today. 4 of them are DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL(ndis.sys), the rest are other causes.

Thanks in advance for all your help!

    :)

  3. BSOD after sleep.

    Dear Eeshwar,

    1. I had installed Microsoft Safety Scanner and peformed necessary test. It haven't found any suspicious things.

    2. I enabled "Driver Verifier Tool".
As result my OS was falling into BSOD after each boot with message: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (ndis.sys). So i reverted this changes in safe mode.

The problem is still present. Looking forward for your assistance.

    BSOD DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL(ndis.sys)

    Hi thatWinGuy,

    Welcome to the 10forums.

The cause of the crashes is the driver for the Wifi USB Adapter.
Please check the manufacturer or Mediatek for driver updates.

  5. thanks for the quick reply! is that for all errors or just the ndis.sys ones?

Pretty much all of the crashes I have checked.

  7. In the future, how can I see what caused the error myself? also, no, I don't switch between my GPU's, AFAIK.

    also, thanks once again.

    BSOD DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL(ndis.sys)

You'll need to learn about crashes and understand how they are caused to identify how you can debug them.

This isn't as easy as you might think, when it comes to a certain point there are so many people who are giving up because of how hard it could be. This is the reason why there are so few debuggers over the whole world when you compare the BSOD part of a forum with the other parts of a forum.

I asked about it, because the Intel video driver was flagged 1 time.
It isn't something to worry about though.

  9. Hi there,

I have the same problem. I used to run Windows 8.1 on my laptop and I believe it never crashed. After upgrading to Windows 10 I have had lot of crashes. Sometimes it just shuts down or reboots and sometimes I encounter BSOD. Quite typically error is the one in title of this thread. When laptop reboots after that it typically fails to start and reboots on and on again. I found that if I remove the battery for a while I'm able to start my computer. It may run flawlessly a day but then crash many times in a row. I've installed now Windows 10 4 or 5 times again but error just keeps coming. I'm not able to tell when it's starting after re-installation as it may be gone for days but then start even though I haven't done any changes to my system meanwhile or installed any new software.

This issue drives me crazy so I'll appreciate any kind of help. I suspect that it's some device driver but which one.
