    DRIVER_OVERRAN_STACK_BUFFER in ntoskrnl.exe

    I have a I7-2600K based PC that my daughter now is using. I have reinstalled Windows 10 and there are only a couple a applications available on it.

    The issue is that it crashed randomly with a BSOD. It can be weeks between each time, but also more frequently. I have tried various:

    * Updated all drivers and BIOS. Even ran "driver booster" to ensure that I had all latest drivers installed.

    * Ran memtest86 for a considerable amount of time

    * Ran Heaven GPU test

    * Checked disk (Samsung 850 Pro ssd) for errors

    * I do not run any virus applications except the built-in ones

    None of these tests indicate any error. Have checked reliability in control panel and also event viewer without getting any clues. The machine did not crash when I used it - but it should be even better now that it is freshly installed?

    The computer does not always produce a dmp file, but today it did. I can see that it indicates DRIVER_OVERRAN_STACK_BUFFER in ntoskrnl.exe, which does not give any more clues to what are wrong or which drivers are faulty.

    Every day I get a BSOD caused by ntoskrnl.exe. It's always when I first startup the pc for that day. I get errors:

    • MEMORY_MANAGEMENT
    • PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_DATA
