  1. BSOD DRIVER_STATE_POWER_FAILURE, please help!

Hello, thanks to all readers I really appreciate any help.

    System Specs:

    CPU - AMD Ryzen 7 2700

    Motherboard - MSI B450 Tomahawk

    RAM - 32GB DDR4 Corsair Vengeance

GPU - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER

    Windows 10 Education

After installing my new GPU I've been getting BSOD's with DRIVER_STATE_POWER_FAILURE causing hangs on shutdown and restart. I've been troubleshooting for awhile now with no luck. My drivers all appear up to date within Device Manager, as well as the application Driver Easy. Here's a list of things I've already done:

    - Reverted the overclocking on my RAM to default.

    - Changed Power settings to recommendations outlined by this article: https://windowsreport.com/driver-power-state-failure-windows-8-1-windows-10/- Reinstalled NVIDIA Drivers via NVIDIA GeForce Experience App, twice.

    - sfc /scannow and DSIM with no errors reported

    - Run Driver Easy software to update all drivers.

    - Advanced SystemRepair Pro scan and clean

I managed to find a program called WhoCrashed which reads my .DMP files. Here is the report from that:

On Sun 4/26/2020 2:08:08 PM your computer crashed or a problem was reported
    crash dump file: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\042620-14468-01.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: ntoskrnl.exe nt+0x1C2390
    Bugcheck code: 0x9F 0x3, 0xFFFFCB881FAEDDD0, 0xFFFFE08AC28D18B0, 0xFFFFCB8829B3E010
    Error: DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE
    file path: C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntoskrnl.exe
    product: Microsoft® Windows® Operating System
    company: Microsoft Corporation
    description: NT Kernel & System
Bug check description: This bug check indicates that the driver is in an inconsistent or invalid power state. A device object has been blocking an IRP for too long a time.
This is likely to be caused by a hardware problem.
The crash took place in the Windows kernel. Possibly this problem is caused by another driver that cannot be identified at this time.

Interestingly, the problem seemed to go away for a couple days after updating with Driver Easy, but it has come back again. Also interestingly, I also attempted to run verifier but got trapped in an IOVIOLATION BSOD and had to disable it. If you have any recommendations or need any files from me, please let me know, I'm getting desperate here.

    Thanks!

    :)

    BAD_POOL_HEADER BSOD, Dump File attached

    Hi Groggubus,

Welcome to the 10forums BSOD DRIVER_STATE_POWER_FAILURE, please help! :)

Please remove / disable items from the startup in taskmanager
These programs could interfere with the boot process giving you trouble and increase the boot time.

Daemon tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known cause for BSOD's.
Please remove Daemon Tools and run the SPTD pass through remover.

    1. Uninstall Daemon Tools
    2. Download the SPTD standalone installer and follow these steps:
      • Double click the executable to open it
      • Click on the button shown below

    BSOD DRIVER_STATE_POWER_FAILURE, please help! [IMG]

If the button is grayed out, like in the image, there is no more SPTD installation on your system, and you can close the window

Please follow this suggestion for the BSOD
    1. Please open BitDefender and go to the modules,
    2. Go to the firewall settings,
    3. Uncheck 'Block port scans in the network',
    4. Reboot your system <-- IMPORTANT
