  1. BSOD due to Driver_Verification_Detected_Violation after Windows update

I was browsing the Steam program and opened a page with an imbedded video of somebody streaming gameplay which triggered an IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL crash. When the computer rebooted it immediately hit a BSOD due to Driver_Verification_Detected_Violation and restarted. This repeated until it entered repair mode and I logged into Safe Mode. I have not previously had any issues with imbedded videos on Steam. Looking through my event log, the last event listed prior to rebooting in Safe Mode was a series of Windows Updates.

    DMP file is here:

System came with Windows 10 pre-installed. BIOS and graphics card drivers were updated a few weeks back and the sound card driver some time before that. Windows updates have been installed automatically.

    :)

    BSOD- atikmpag.sys

This is most likely due to an installation/upgrade error with ATI driver's. I suggest doing DriveSweeper and the following:
    • Drivesweeper all drivers & in Safe Mode
    • Unistall all drivers that aren't used in DriveSweeper (CCC Profiler Updates, MSI AfterBurner, anything related to ATI that use's it's drivers.)
    • After you do this, the first thing you need to do is go into Device Manager and Unistall your ATI Drivers

Once your done, restart the PC and then try installing the latest drivers.

I had several issues with this in the past, but I overcame it with logical reasoning and whenever I have a driver issue, I just use these steps and I always overcome the problem.

    Best of luck! *Toast :toast:
