BSOD during update to build 1607

During installation i received a BSOD, first 2 restarts went fine, then another one at around 73% i think and BSOD something about system exception not handled. Scanned QR code, damn thing was of absolutely no help at all. Maybe you guys will be able to assist.

*edit* tried again after disconnecting all peripherals and most of the asus software. Still no go, i have the basic O&O shutup 10 settings applied, so yeah, right now i'm stuck on build 1511. 2nd log attached after 2nd unsuccesful install

    *edit2* just found this: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/w...7da47ec?auth=1

seems it might be my avast. As uninstalling that is no option for me (loss of the asus software isn't a biggy), i'll await for their response. In fact there's numerous topics about it. Avast Free/Pro/IS/Premier

    :)

Windows 10 Defender not turning on

    Answers;

1- No, it came with Windows 7 Home premium preinstalled, it then upgraded to windows 10 home free from Microsoft, then updated to recent build 1607, Windows defender was available and running on the previous build, but after the update to build 1607 it disappears!!!

    2- Manufacturer Acer.

3- No antivirus was installed, I recently installed AVAST because windows defender is missing, but AVAST was causing BSOD so I removed it.

4- Never tried these removal tools, will try them if they help,as never installed Norton or Mcafee antivirus.

5- Current OS is Windows 10 home premium 64bit build 1607 (build 14393.447)

6- Yes same computer but it was not answered.

I look forward to hearing from you.

    thank you

  3. After 1511 worked well, the Anniversary Edition (1607) has made a mess of my computer

Don't understand why you unsubscribed -- not sure he gave any indication it was all roses and he was done.

Additionally, I have run into the same problem -- 1607 just doesn't feel stable at all. In 1511 I have had ZERO BSOD and since updating to 1607 in prep for creator's update, I've already had about 3 or 4. What changes so significantly from 1511 to 1607 that
could cause us all to have BSOD's?

Why do we need a clean install every time? And, even in clean install situations, we still don't get past the BSODs.

    What is going on here?

I'm curious if we can just keep it at 1511, which was super stable. In fact, build 1511 was so stable that I have really enjoyed Win 10. But 1607 was crap out the gate and appears to continue to have the same problems it did on roll-out, at least for my
    system.

    Hi Ch3vr0n,

I'm not talking about your activation *Smile
I've seen your activation, some generic details at least, there is no problem with that *Smile

It seems that you didn't understand what I posted, let me try to explain *Smile
You indeed don't ask for help about any kind of piracy in any way, but that is not what I meant. I meant that you are having illegal activated programs on your system.
We don't provide support while any kind of piracy is present on your system.

My post is a so called template post, I use it everytime when I see evidence about piracy on a system. I've expanded it a little in the hope to explain what Forum Rule #2 is about, because some attempted to change the definition of this rule from time to time.
