Windows 10: BSOD during Windows 10 installation

So I can't upgrade to windows 10. I keep getting a SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (wdf01000.sys) error. Then I am stuck until my PC restarts a few times and rolls back to Windows 7 Pro. I am attaching the debug to see if anyone can help me figure out what is causing this error. Thanks.

I m sorry to interfere in this thread but i have the same problem.

tried to update windows 10 and i had the same BSOD at 76% KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE

Its after the second restart during the installation process. Second restart happens at 75% and then goes to 76% followed by BSOD.

would be great to understand the reason behind this BSOD

 

As there are no dump files in the logs anything we could offer would be complete guesswork unfortunately.

 

How long do dump files usually sit in the system for? It has been a couple days since I last tried to update after getting nowhere. Could they have been deleted since my last update attempt?

 

Dumps should be stored in %SystemRoot%\Minidump. You can checn to see if they're there but if the BSOD is happening during installation they probably haven't been wirtten.

 

So if there is no dump being created, then is there any way to determine what is causing the BSOD during installation? It always fails somewhere between 40% and 60% percent during the driver installation section.
