Windows 10: BSOD errors recently 10-2-23

Need some help in trying to figure out some BSOD errors I've been receiving recently. My computer was running fine on 9/28/23 and when I got back from vacation I started getting BSOD errors about 10 minutes after start. Generally the dxgmms2.sys error, sometimes the IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error It's a self-build, fairly old and I just do your basic word processing, spreadsheets, etc. with it. No gaming, etc. I was assuming it was based on some recent Microsoft pushed update but I can't find any information that would point to an update pushed out during that time frame. Thankyou very much for your reply. In relation to your first post, I have carried out steps 10-22 (apart from step 15, I will attempt to leave it running with this tonight). The screenshots are attached. I have also uninstalled the programmes detailed above. Unfortunately, as my laptop is a custom built from PCSpecialist, they do not provide BIOS updates anywhere easily accessible. I will phoen them today and see if there are any updates.

BSOD - Registry Error

+1 to listing your full system specs, OS version, etc. I did only look at your BSOD log file.

Run a Diskchk /R (I know you already ran one, so you can skip this)

Run SFC /SCANNOW

Multiple BSOD errors started recently


Daemon tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known cause for BSOD's.
Please remove Daemon Tools and run the SPTD pass through remover.

1. Uninstall Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%
2. Download the SPTD standalone installer and follow these steps:
   • Double click the executable to open it
   • Click on the button shown below

If the button is grayed out, like in the image, there is no more SPTD installation on your system, and you can close the window

Please update your BIOS to version 1402

If this doesn't help, I would suggest to clean reinstall the display drivers
Please uninstall everything of Nvidia using Display Driver Uninstaller and install new drivers from Nvidia. Be sure the clean install box is checked and only install the Graphics driver and the PhysX driver.
