    BSOD happens from desktop when machine idle.


    If I'm using my PC, even with high-demand games, it works fine. If I leave it on the desktop and do nothing I get recurrent BSODs - sometimes after a few minutes, sometimes within an hour - the computer then re-starts and usually within 10-15 mins it BSODs again even if I don't touch it and is on the log-in screen. I don't think I've changed anything, I have no new hardware. I don't really want to re-install Windows, but looking like I'm heading that way - any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Could this be hardware related? A PSU issue? If it was I would have thought stressing the

    BSOD while idle on desktop

    The past few days I have been getting BSOD while my computer was idle on desktop with only Google Chrome open and other background programs. Both times it has happened my monitor was in sleep mode so I was unable to see the BSOD myself but I have the minidumps.

    What is the make and model of the computer?

      • Dell Latitude 5591 Purchased 2019
    2.
    Which version of Windows is installed on your machine?

      • Win 10 Pro, Version 1809, OS Build 17763.529
    3.
    Have you tried booting the PC in Safe mode to know if the issue persists?

      • No, would be hard to work in safe mode
    4.
    Have you installed any non-Microsoft security software on your PC?

      • No, nothing


    I’m receiving 2 types of BSODs

    UEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION



    It happens while I work, usually browsing. I think always when browsing. The computer gets into waiting mode (mouse icon) and BSODs in a couple of seconds after that.



    REGISTRY_ERROR

    When idle, I come back to this BSOD after leaving the computer for a while.

    Perhaps you can tell me how I can force more dumps? Memory dumps? It stays on 0% complete forever.

    Hi Ten Forums
    I need some help with a recent BSOD on my new laptop, as the title suggests I was on my laptop which I left idle with the opera browser on. Then it crashed, I have just recently purchased this at the beginning of the month, and I had my first BSOD on a Dell G5 5587 laptop.

    I haven’t changed much from the machine other than the laptop memory from the 8gb memory to some g-skill 16gb ddr4 2666mhz memory. I would like to know if it’s the memory that’s causing it to crash or is it something else as the memory is brand new so I have 30 days to send back to the shop where I purchased it from. I have attached the bsod log files as requested, I hope you can help.
