    BSoD INVALID_KERNEL_HANDLE

Invalid kernel handle error on blue screenSo, I was playing games and my Intel CPU I7-8900K was running at 30% and to increase cpu core usage I went into msconfig to the boot menu and changed the cores to run 1, applied it, and restarted. I then got caught in a boot loop. I can run it in safe mode and changed everything back to how it was before and this problem still persists. I use my pc for gaming and light internet browsing. I watched as many videos as I could to no avail. I didn’t see a video that was related to my exact issuemaybe I didn’t look hard enough, but I digress. I hope I’m overlooking a simple fix, but I’d love some advice. Thanks in advance.

    :)

  3. Windows 7 BSOD - INVALID_KERNEL_HANDLE

Alright its my first time posting here, but i've finally resorted to professional help. I am facing a bsod that says *INVALID_KERNEL_HANDLE*, to which I looked up seemed to be a rare bsod code and that its when a kernel code closes an invalid/protected
handle. I'm sorry if this will disappoint you but I'm no good with these technology stuff(long story short i've borrowed my uncle's pc so that I can play some games with it, he's no expert also). I've noticed the problem only happens rarely like twice a week
or so, and mostly when I use an editing program such as filmora 9. My uncle told me he hasn't updated the pc years, so I tried to do so myself in which I followed the official microsoft installation to windows 10. It ultimately failed and said "Your Windows
is not genuine". I've also encountered other critical errors such as system restore giving an error message after going through the process, telling me that it did not work and nothing was changed(I never really know if it only happens sometimes because I
barely use it). And when I update my Windows 7(Service Pack 1) it just uses a lot of cpu and load forever. I'm pretty sure by now that this pc is crawling with corruptions and errors. I've done multiple researches going through fixing corruptions but all of
them ended up in error. I'm sorry if i'm not giving you any clues, i'm just really not good with this stuff but I still believe there's still hope for this pc, that I can't just a buy a new one and put to waste this one that might just be fixed. I will do
my best to follow any instructions you people give me as long as you keep it simple enough for a 15 year old, thank you.

    BSoD INVALID_KERNEL_HANDLE

    Random BSOD while browsing internet

BitDefender is nothing special. mwac.sys causes BSODs anywhere.
A tiny documentation can be found here: Solved Random BSODs - Windows 10 Forums
In that very thread, the suggested action apparently worked.

The storage and network filters of any third party antivirus can cause BSODs. Neither MBAM nor BitDefender is any special. For a regular antivirus, it may be shifted to an alternative; but MBAM has no alternative. So a clean install of the said program is the most feasible first step.
As far as the first step is not failing, it is better to not think for the second step. Because the BSODs are not universal, failure at the first step is not universal; and success at the second step is also not universal.
That is why I posted that my suggestion may work, or may not. Let us see where it goes.
