    Download and install CPU-Z
    CPU-Z | Softwares | CPUID
It will display whether you have single or dual channel RAM
Use the Crucial scanner to have it find replacement RAM and see the ballpark cost.
Welcome to the Crucial US Online Store | Free Delivery
Then make a decision whether to get 1 or 2 RAM sticks.

Post images into the thread for the tabs of the cpu;z

Attached cpuz screenshots. So whatever I do I definitely have to send this ram stick back correct?

CPUz is displaying single channel DDR4
For problems I prefer to have a confirmation study.
So you could test the RAM in a friends or neighbors computer or at a local store.
Testing the RAM is very quick when it produces errors as you immediately abort the test.
It doesn't matter whether it is 1 or 10,000 errors, it is still malfunctioning.
So you can move the RAM to another DIMM and if it fails you know it is the RAM.
Let me correct myself.......it could also be the DIMM /MB....so testing in another machine is the confirmation.

Ok fair enough, learning something new. So this ram stick is gone, will contact the seller.

As for the single-channel in cpuz, but isn't that correct - since I'm using 1x8gb stick it would show as single-channel only?

Make sure you check the RAM in another computer so that you have confirmation of a RAM problem versus a DIMM /MB problem.
RAM is more commonly malfunctioning but confirmatory testing is needed.

It's a faulty ram stick, just checked on another desktop. Could this be causing the bsod crashes (with the .dmp files I uploaded)?

There are generally 3 causes for bsod:

    1) hardware drivers
    2) software drivers
    3) hardware

So you have confirmed the RAM malfunction in another computer.
    Replace the RAM.

    Summary:
There was 1 misbehaving software driver and malfunctioning hardware.

You can keep the thread open or once you replace the RAM you can reopen the thread for any new bsod.
And in the future (after replacing the RAM and having a stable computer environment) you can try to reinstall Avast and monitor the stability of the computer.

Your report states that you are using a Non Genuine copy of software
This forum's Rules clearly state that help will not be provided to those using Non genuine Software.

    Rule 4
No piracy or discussion of piracy allowed at all. Such as software, music, videos and other intellectual property violations (e.g. downloading youtube videos locally etc) - it is forum policy that no help shall be given to people who knowingly steal software or services.

One of the main reasons for this is that the act of pirating software will inevitably change the working of software and make investigation and repair impossible. Please install a legitimate copy of the software and if you are still experiencing the issue we will be pleased to assist - No further assistance will be provided until we are satisfied that the software is genuine.
