    BSoD Issues

    Hello all,

I am hoping that I can get some advice or help on a BSoD problem that has been recurring for a number of days. I am okay with spending money to replace components in my laptop but im not sure whether it is a RAM or SSD issue....or something else. The errors occur during gaming, browsing, watching videos.

    Specs:
    MSI GE62 2QF Apache Pro
    Intel i7-5700HQ
    Nvidia GTX 970M
    16 GB 1600MHz DDR3
    128GB SSD

    Speccy Link:
    http://speccy.piriform.com/results/eBfrYR8S6vxjLESUJ81Z2VV

The typical messages I am getting amongst others are:
    MEMORY_MANAGEMENT
    DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION
    CRITICAL_STRUCTURE_CORRUPTION

    Solution that I have tried:

    • Windows memory diagnostics tool
    • System file checker
    • I reformatted the computer, removing all files and starting from scratch.
    • driver verifier - This caused constant driver_verifier_found_an_issue straight from start-up without going to windows. I had to safe mode, get the mini dumps and then reset the verifier.
    • I downloaded an iorbit software which updated lots of drivers, BSOD again this time caused by an IORBIT file so I uninstalled. My computer worked fine for a day then started the same BSOD issues again.
    • Individually updated every drivers using device manager
    • Replaced the iastor.sys driver for the storahci.sys to try and resolve the DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION BSoD

I have a large number of minidumps available here First time doing this hope it will work

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

    BSOD- atikmpag.sys

This is most likely due to an installation/upgrade error with ATI driver's. I suggest doing DriveSweeper and the following:
    • Drivesweeper all drivers & in Safe Mode
    • Unistall all drivers that aren't used in DriveSweeper (CCC Profiler Updates, MSI AfterBurner, anything related to ATI that use's it's drivers.)
    • After you do this, the first thing you need to do is go into Device Manager and Unistall your ATI Drivers

Once your done, restart the PC and then try installing the latest drivers.

I had several issues with this in the past, but I overcame it with logical reasoning and whenever I have a driver issue, I just use these steps and I always overcome the problem.

    Best of luck! *Toast :toast:

BSOD issue after fixing another BSOD error

    Hi Williams,

There are several reasons why BSOD occur, which has different resolution. To check for any corruption or the integrity of your computer's Windows, we suggest that you perform a
Check Disk by following these steps:

    • Type cmd in the search bar.
    • Right-click on the Command Prompt, then Run as administrator.
    • Type chkdsk x: /r, the /r command will fix errors found on the disk.

Let us know if you need further assistance.
