BSOD Loop after removing a free antivirus. Can't access drives or USB

Hello, my computer was working fine until this happened. I installed Zone Alarm, but decided to use Avast instead, so uninstalled Zone Alarm. Everything seemed ok and I went and turned my pc off that day. The next day I went to switch it back on and it started saying it was repairing and diagnosing and then went on to blue screen which said that pc wasn't shut down properly and give 2 options to restart or advanced options. I have tried restarting with no luck, so went in to advanced options and have tried everything in there. I tried system restore, but there was no restore point listed, so that was no good. I've tried command prompt, start up repair, safe mode and just about everything else mentioned in the trouble shooting. I was on for over 9 hours trying to fix this. I've tried putting Windows 10 download from Microsoft on a USB and making sure that USB was the first thing that would boot through Bios, but nothing happened. I also noticed in Bios that there wasn't an option for a CD/DVD to be a bootable drive. So every time I try all this, it just keeps putting me back to the blue screen and I can't access Windows/desktop at all. I am totally stuck on what to do and help would be much appreciated. Thanks

    :)

help. USB drive isn't assigned a drive letter.

Any usb flash drive I plug into my computer isn't assigned a drive letter. The physical drive shows in the "safely remove hardware" but it doesnt show up in disk management. I have tried to populate the volume thru the safely remove hardware properties window and it does pop up in the list but it doesn't stay there. This isn't a format or assign a letter problem. It's more complicated then that. Maybe one of the services needed for usb drive management was disabled? Suggestions needed. btw external usb harddrives work fine.

  3. USB Drive Access

My windows 7 machine had a 1 T Byte USB Drive attached after installing Windows 10 that drive was not available.

removing the drive removes the safely remove icon with the suitable sound and connecting it displays it with the suitable sound however right clicking it give no item in the list just ... which doesn't access anything.

Under disc manager no drive is shown. A 16MByte Flash drive operates correctly

The 1T Byte drive operate on two laptops under windows 10

The mother board is a Gigabyte GA-P55-UD3 with Award Bios v6.00PG

any help or investigation techniques would be appreciated

    thanks

BSOD Loop after removing a free antivirus. Can't access drives or USB

    Accessing a Hard Drive...

    ...from a dead laptop.

My girlfriend's laptop recently s**t the bed, and she has a lot of photos she would like to retrieve from it. I used a USB to IDE cable to try, but it's a no go. Her drive has Windows XP Home on it, and my system has Win7 x64. The computer recognizes the drive, but it wants me to initialize it, which I think may format it.

I don't know if it's formatted FAT32 or NTFS. Are there any suggestions on accessing the drive to pull all this data off of it?
