    Hi i recently updated Windows 10 on my pc, left it updating overnight, then when I tried to restart the computer I get the BSOD with 1 of 2 messages every time it restarts. These messages are either “System thread exception not handled” or “IRQL Not less or equal”. It is usually the first message, but I sometimes get the second. To make matters worse I cant seem to access safe mode through the method of turning the computer off and on 3 times. For some reason the pc never boots first time and goes to the POST screen twice before starting ( i feel like this might have caused the issue after the update). I created a bootable usb, entered safe mode using this and tried to use the repair tool. This didn’t work. I have tried to reinstall Windows 10 using this usb but it wont let me do that as I don’t have a product key.


    I’m out of ideas, does anyone have any suggestions?

    • Have you made any changes on your device prior to the issue?
    • What is the complete error message that you're seeing on the screen?

    This is most likely due to an installation/upgrade error with ATI driver's. I suggest doing DriveSweeper and the following:
    • Drivesweeper all drivers & in Safe Mode
    • Unistall all drivers that aren't used in DriveSweeper (CCC Profiler Updates, MSI AfterBurner, anything related to ATI that use's it's drivers.)
    • After you do this, the first thing you need to do is go into Device Manager and Unistall your ATI Drivers

    Once your done, restart the PC and then try installing the latest drivers.


    I had several issues with this in the past, but I overcame it with logical reasoning and whenever I have a driver issue, I just use these steps and I always overcome the problem.
