    BSOD NTFS.sys

Hi all, i'm hoping someone can help out with my issue.

my issue is a constant BSOD error on my old Lenovo 100S laptop. What i'm trying to do is use it for two main purposes.

    • Purpose one, to play movies and music from a USB HDD
    • Purpose two, is to use it for OneDrive, for photo taking

this laptop is only being used for the above when out on holiday, travelling and letting kids watch stuff when in the car. the use of OneDrive makes it easy to access everything back on the main pc.

I am trying to make the laptop run as fast as it can with the hardware it has and reduce all applications to other three or four.

To describe the process I did before the BSOD appeared.

I have been customizing this system via the settings app and removed all non-essentials programs and features. I have also done all the updates required and installed all drivers from the Lenovo website. Next I formatted SD Card to NTFS and set windows to store everything here as main HDD is 32gb and want to store/update internal apps here. Restarted the pc to finalize everything. So far all is ok. the last step is to remove optional features-accessed via settings-apps-optional features.

I have successfully uninstalled all features that didn't require a restart such as WordPad, notepad, maths recogniser, paint, quick assist (but may leave this on now), steps recorder. I never uninstalled PowerShell ISE OpenSSH or internet explorer 11.

My issue started when I uninstalled Windows Hello Face and Windows Fax and Scan. once completed I restarted the pc as requested and was presented with the usual windows is now configuring system it gets to about 30% then crashes showing the BSOD.
it shows error KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED
    What Failed NTFS.sys.

After that checks the pc restarts showing the Lenovo logo with a spinning icon at the bottom after few secs it displays diagnosing pc then I get the same BSOD after doing this three or four times I can access the recovery menus and I select recover from USB but once it has booted the BSOD pops ups. I have tried a lot of work arounds but evytime the BSOD appears.

After each attempt I have to re-install windows as a clean install to use the laptop.

anybody have any idea what this is?

Also to note I have used the windows media creation tool from Microsoft website to make the USB

    :)

    dxgmms2.sys BSOD

    Hello,

A while back, my computer lost power while it was installing windows updates. Since then, I've had BSODs every couple days, with various errors pointing to a driver error. These were annoying, but manageable. I tried a few basic troubleshooting steps, like
using a removal tool for my graphics card drivers and reinstalling, but I didn't do much else.

The last couple days, the BSOD rate has ramped up, and I started seeing "dxgmms2.sys" get listed in the BSODs, which is relatively new.

    I followed the instructions
    here.

And here are my dmp files resulting from that:

    Thanks.

  3. wdf01000.sys and ntoskrnl.exe BSOD

    I'm on Windows 10, 64bit

Basically, whenever I try to update my LPC controller through Device Manager, BSOD with WDF_VIOLATION occurs (culprit being wdf01000.sys)

So I try to use the driver verifier to see which driver is causing the BSOD, but then it causes BSOD (cultprit being ntoskrnl.exe)

Have no idea which driver is causing them

    Please help!

    BSOD - driver_irql_not_less_or_equal (l1c63x64.sys)

    Hi Seung,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused by BSOD - driver_irql_not_less_or_equal (l1c63x64.sys).

Please let us know the make/model of your computer.

The L1C63x64.sys is the Atheros LAN driver and I would suggest to uninstall and reinstall the Atheros LAN driver but install the latest Atheros LAN driver by visiting the manufacture's website and avoid using any LAN driver available though Windows Update.

However the problem could also be with any VPN software and other software so make sure you have the latest version of each of these software.

If the errors continue uninstall the VPN software and check if the issue persist.

Hope this helps. Get back to us for further queries for BSOD - driver_irql_not_less_or_equal (l1c63x64.sys). We are happy to help!
